Chasing the perfida Albione: Anglo‐Italian productivity gap in the late 1930s
The Economic History Review, EarlyView.Abstract This paper presents new estimates of Anglo‐Italian labour productivity levels in manufacturing in the late 1930s, derived using the standard single‐deflation approach. The findings confirm a substantial productivity gap between Italy and the United Kingdom at the aggregate level, alongside pronounced intersectoral heterogeneity.

The Acts of Eadburg: drypoint additions to Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS Selden Supra 30
Early Medieval Europe, EarlyView.In 1913, two drypoint additions were identified in Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS Selden Supra 30 (SS30), an eighth‐century Southumbrian copy of the Acts of the Apostles. It was suggested that these additions, cut into the membrane of p. 47, were abbreviations of the Old English female name, Eadburg. Just over a century later, many more drypoint markings
