Corner reflectors and Quantum-Non-Demolition Measurements in gravitational wave antennae
We propose Fabry-Perot cavity with corner reflectors instead of spherical mirrors to reduce the contribution of thermoelastic noise in the coating which is relatively large for spherical mirrors and which prevents the sensitivity better than Standard ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Toroidal mirrors provide virtual walls for breaks in light pipes [PDF]
Section of light pipe consists of separated segments having opposed toroidal mirrors that intercept meridional rays to present virtual wall in space between mirrors, thus insuring uninterrupted light transmission down the pipe.

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

The Sky and the Mud. The Art and Politics of Television
The “return effect” of critical television studies has proved difficult if not impossible to discern in the discipline of politics. This essay suggests this failure may have much to do with the pervasive and insidious dichotomy art/non-art, which ...

Light Turning Mirrors in SiON Optical Waveguides for Hybrid Integration with CMOS Photo-detectors [PDF]
A new method is proposed for hybrid integration of SiON optical waveguides and standard CMOS photo-detectors based on anisotropic etching of 45° facets in a Si substrate.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
