MINI SEED 2 (MIS2) Encodes a Receptor-like Kinase that Controls Grain Size and Shape in Rice [PDF]

open access: yesRice, 2020
Background Grain size is a key agronomic trait that is directly associated with grain yield in rice. Although several genes related to grain size in rice have been identified, our understanding of the mechanism of grain development is still limited ...

New Model of Coastal Evolution in the Ria de Vigo (NW Spain) from MIS2 to Present Day Based on the Aeolian Sedimentary Record

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2022
Galician Rias are fluvial valleys that were flooded during the last marine transgression in the Atlantic margin. The study of fossil dunes in the Cies Islands, a small archipelago in the mouth of the one of the rias (Ria de Vigo), allowed us to ...

Millennial paleoclimate variations on the Central Tibetan Plateau during MIS4-MIS2 inferred from a sediment core based RPI chronology [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
Lakes on the Tibetan Plateau, highly sensitive to environmental changes, play a key role in paleoclimatic studies. However, dating limitations often constrain investigations to periods before the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM).

The Epigravettian chronology and the human population of eastern Central Europe during MIS2

open access: yesQuaternary Science Reviews, 2021
Abstract The goal of this paper is to refine the relative and absolute chronology of Epigravettian culture (26.5–15.0 ka) in eastern Central Europe (ECE) and clarify its relation to the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) and subsequent climatic changes.

Long-term Paleomagnetic Secular Variation and Excursions from the western Equatorial Pacific Ocean (MIS2-4) [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Journal International, 2017
New palaeomagnetic results are presented for the Pleistocene (MIS2-4) portion of deep-sea core MD98-2181 (MD81; Devao Gulf, Philippine Islands). MD81 is the highest resolution (similar to 50 cm ky-1) palaeomagnetic secular variation (PSV) record for similar to 12-70 ka ever recovered from equatorial latitudes (+/- 15 degrees.).

High-resolution proxy record of the environmental response to climatic variations during transition MIS3/MIS2 and MIS2 in Central Europe: The loess-paleosol sequence of Katymár brickyard (Hungary)

open access: yesQuaternary International, 2019
According to the findings of a complex radiocarbon dated sedimentological, geochemical, anthracological, phytolite, malacological study implemented on an open 1036 cm wind-blown sand, loess, sandy loess and fossil soils profile of western part of brickyard at Katymár village in Hungary.

Interplay of the Indian summer monsoon and intermonsoon precipitation in Sri Lanka due to ITCZ migration during the last 80000 years [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
Precipitation variations in the tropical Indian Ocean region result from changes in the Indian Summer Monsoon (ISM), as well as convective and cyclonic rainfall.

Ice-Flow Dynamics During the Final Stage of the Fraser Glaciation (MIS2) in the Fraser Lowland, BC, Canada

open access: yesQuaternary
Although the Late Pleistocene glaciation history of the Fraser Lowland (BC, Canada) is relatively well studied, little is known about ice-flow directions during the last glaciation (Fraser glaciation).
