Uniformity Prediction of Bending Stiffness of Composite Space Mirrors With Ply Angle Misalignments by Deflection Angle

open access: yesFrontiers in Mechanical Engineering, 2022
Based on the classical lamination theory, the principal moment direction of the laminate is derived. It is 45° apart from the generalized ply angle, which is the orientation of the ply where the ply angle misalignment occurs nominally. After adding a fixed one-ply angle or random multiple ply angle misalignments to six quasi-isotropic and symmetric ...

Transfer Printing and Reconfiguration of Soft Electronics Using Digital Microfluidics and Laser Machining

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a digital microfluidics‐based technique for transferring and reconfiguring soft nanomembranes. Laser‐machined nanothin membranes are picked up, transported, and aligned via tailored surface tension and the actuation of water droplets, enabling the development of flexible electronics, the integration of functional materials on 3D ...

Effect of Shaft Misalignment on The Stresses Distribution of Spur Gears [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2010
Shaft misalignment is considered as one of the common repeatedproblems in most rotating machineries , which leads to generate vibrations andextra dynamic loads on transmitting gears teeth, also leads to non- uniformity indistribution of applied load ...

Tailoring Li‐ion Storage and Transport in Two‐Dimensional Conjugated Metal‐Organic Frameworks via Precise Nitrogen Incorporation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two nitrogen‐doped 2D conjugated metal‐organic frameworks (2D c‐MOFs, namely Cu‐Nx‐OHBA, x = 2 or 4) are synthesized, featuring precise nitrogen incorporation via rational ligand design. The Cu‐Nx‐OHBA 2D c‐MOFs are largely tailorable by varying skeletal nitrogen density, with respect to electrical conductivity, Li‐storage capacitance, and Li‐transport

Designed Lewis Acid–Base Passivation for High Performance Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silicon's high cost and long energy payback time remain major barriers to the global expansion of solar power. In contrast, metal–halide perovskites offer abundant, solution‐processable absorbers, and have achieved efficiencies of 25%–30%, positioning them as strong competitors to silicon.

Twin Crystal Moiré Metasurfaces for Crossing Flat‐Band Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces twin crystal moiré metasurfaces, breaking in‐plane symmetry to enable reconfigurable acoustic wave manipulation. By adjusting the twin angle and interlayer twist angle, various combinations of hyperbolic, flat bands, and elliptic states can be synthesized in the system.

Research on the Collaborative Design of Spiral Bevel Gear Transmission Considering Uncertain Misalignment Errors

open access: yesApplied Sciences
To extend the time between the overhauls of helicopters, a novel collaborative methodology that takes into account uncertain misalignment errors by considering the shape and performance of the gear is built.

Effect of Small Angle Misalignments on Ocular Wavefront Zernike Coefficients

open access: yesPhotonics
Purpose: To assess the possible impact of minor changes in fixation on wavefront measurements as a potential constraint in detecting subtle temporal variations in ocular wavefront error. Methods: Twelve healthy subjects with an average age of 36.3 ± 8.8 were instructed to put their heads in the aberrometer’s chin-rest and look at a fixation target that

Development of a Three‐Axis Planar Hall Magnetoresistance Sensor Using a Superparamagnetic Nanoparticle‐Based Flux Guide

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A printed superparamagnetic nanoparticle‐based flux guide enables the realization of a hysteresis‐free three‐axis magnetic sensor. This innovative architecture efficiently redirects out‐of‐plane fields to planar sensing elements, facilitating simultaneous vector detection without complex reset protocols.

Coaxially Electrospun Myocardial dECM‐ Based Nanofibrous Scaffolds Demonstrate Enhanced Cardiomyocyte Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Our coaxial electrospinning system is capable of incorporating decellularized myocardial extracellular matrix in a core‐sheath configuration, creating nanofibrous scaffolds. These scaffolds, in turn, support the maintenance of functional cardiomyocytes adhered to the surface of these bioactive scaffolds.
