A miscibility gap in LiF-BeF₂ and LiF-BeF₂-ThF₄ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
LiF BeF₂ and LiF BeF₂ ThF₄ are key systems for Molten Salt Reactor fuel. The liquid phase of these systems has been assessed using Redlich Kister polynomials. The result shows a miscibility gap on the BeF₂-rich side.

Electrospun Wood‐Derived Biopolymers as Electrodes in Electrochemical Energy Storage Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrospinning transforms wood‐derived cellulose and lignin into architecturally defined, binder‐free carbon electrodes with tuneable porosity and functionality. This review shows how fibre design enables decoupled charge and mass transport, enhancing performance across battery systems, while identifying key challenges in spinnability, scalability ...

Miscibility-Controlled Mechanical and Photovoltaic Properties in Double-Cable Conjugated Polymer/Insulating Polymer Composites

open access: yes
Flexibility is one of the main characteristics of organic solar cells (OSCs), which enables them to possess potential applications in flexible electronics. The study of flexibility (such as mechanical and bending behaviors) of the photoactive layers and

The Influences of Hydrogen–Silicate–Iron Miscibility on the Demographics of Sub-Neptunes and Super-Earths

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Models based on variable miscibility among hydrogen, molten silicate, and molten iron, coupled with atmospheric escape, can reproduce the observed occurrence density structure of sub-Neptunes and super-Earths in mass–radius space.

Spatially Regulated Silicon Clusters in Trimodal Composite Anodes for High‐Energy Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A trimodal anode architecture spatially regulates silicon clusters within confined interstitial environments formed by graphite and contorted hexabenzocoronene. This confinement suppresses silicon aggregation and localized stress while enabling efficient Li‐ion transport, achieving high‐capacity, stable lithium‐ion batteries.

ATOM PROBE ANALYSIS OF SOLUTE CLUSTERING ABOVE A MISCIBILITY GAP

open access: yes, 1987
At temperatures just above a miscibility gap, spatially small but large amplitude solute fluctuations or clusters are predicted. These clusters may be retained in the solution upon quenching to a lower temperature and may influence subsequent ...

Liquid Phase Separation in High-Entropy Alloys—A Review

open access: yesEntropy, 2018
It has been 14 years since the discovery of the high-entropy alloys (HEAs), an idea of alloying which has reinvigorated materials scientists to explore unconventional alloy compositions and multicomponent alloy systems.

Topological Invariants of Vapor–Liquid, Vapor–Liquid–Liquid and Liquid–Liquid Phase Diagrams

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
The study of topological invariants of phase diagrams allows for the development of a qualitative theory of the processes being researched. Studies of the properties of objects in the same equivalence class may be carried out with the aim of predicting ...
