Assessing the clinical value of cervical biopsies in individuals with transformation zone type 3 at colposcopy: A cross‐sectional study

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.

Immediate placement of intrauterine device after second‐trimester medical abortion—Secondary outcomes with one‐year follow‐up

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
Immediate intrauterine device placement after second‐trimester medical abortion was associated with a higher incidence of expulsion, lower use of IUD at 12 months, and lower acceptance compared with delayed placement. However, no significant increase in subsequent pregnancies or abortions was observed at the 12 month follow‐up.

Fertility outcomes and ovarian function recovery after anti‐NMDAR encephalitis: A retrospective cohort study

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
Acute hypothalamic–pituitary–ovarian axis suppression is common in anti‐NMDAR encephalitis, yet ovarian function and fertility recover favorably even in teratoma‐associated cases, supporting reassuring long‐term reproductive prognoses. Abstract Introduction Anti‐N‐methyl‐D‐aspartate receptor (anti‐NMDAR) encephalitis predominantly affects women of ...

Introducing self‐sampling for cervical cancer screening: A regional implementation study in Pirkanmaa, Finland

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
In this pilot study, HPV self‐sampling reached a 1.9% uptake among screening non‐attenders. Participants found the method acceptable, although overall screening coverage did not increase during the first implementation year. Abstract Introduction HPV primary testing is the preferred method for cervical cancer screening worldwide and enables vaginal ...
