Integrating 2D layered materials with 3D bulk materials as van der Waals heterostructures for photodetections: Current status and perspectives

open access: yesInfoMat, Volume 5, Issue 10, October 2023., 2023
The two‐dimensional/three‐dimensional (2D/3D) van der Waals heterostructures (vdWH) combine the advantages of the 2D layer materials (2DLMs) and traditional 3D semiconductor materials simultaneously, which provide a new platform for developing high‐performance optoelectronic devices. Herein, we present a comprehensive review on the structure categories,

Bullet and Shrapnel Embolism: When “Uncommon” Meets “Dangerous” [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Bullet and shrapnel embolism (BSE) is well described in the literature. Despite that, its rare occurrence creates a diagnostic challenge for providers tending to penetrating trauma victims. As with other forms of embolic phenomena, cases of BSE require a

Intracardiac Penetrating Injury with Right Femoral Artery Embolism due to Blast Injury

open access: yesHeart Views, 2016
Embolization due to blast injury with projectiles entering the bloodstream from the heart is a rare event that is unlikely to be suspected during the initial assessment of trauma patients.

Foreign Intravascular Object Embolization and Migration: Bullets, Catheters, Wires, Stents, Filters, and More [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Foreign intravascular object embolization (FIOE) is an important, yet underreported occurrence that has been described in a variety of settings, from penetrating trauma to intravascular procedures. In this chapter, the authors will review the most common

Interface Engineering in Solid‐State Sodium Batteries: Advances in Materials Design, Interfacial Strategies, and Multiscale Characterization

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Materials, EarlyView.
Since solid‐state sodium batteries (SSSBs) are a promising solution for advancing sodium‐based energy storage, it is necessary to systematically summarize the development process of SSSBs. It focuses on the role of interface engineering in addressing challenges such as materials design, interfacial strategies, and multiscale characterization.

Impact Reactivation of a Hydrothermal System in Basalt in the Vargeão Dome Impact Structure, Brazil

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract As hydrous minerals have been observed in impact craters on Mars, impact‐generated hydrothermal systems (IGHSs) have been considered as potential habitats for life on that planet. The Vargeão Dome, a 12 km wide impact structure in southern Brazil, was formed in basalts with at least two hydrothermal alteration stages.
