Bioinspired Stabilization of Fluorescent Au@SiO2 Tracers for Multimodal Biological Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a bioinspired stabilization strategy for fluorescent gold‐silica nanoparticles. Inspired by natural biosilica maturation, high‐temperature calcination transforms the silica shells, preventing dissolution in cell culture media and intracellular environments.

Series -„Culture of Misunderstanding”- Civil Activity

open access: yesПроблеми на постмодерността, 2013
The article analyzes one of the main features of contemporary television series - that they stimulate the formation of a "culture of misunderstanding." Their key tool to support action, to search for new plots, to construct artificial images, to enhance ...

From Clinic to Computation: Multiscale Bioengineering Strategies for Durable Biological Aortic Valve Replacements

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bioprosthetic aortic valves have revolutionized the treatment of aortic stenosis, but their durability is limited by structural valve deterioration (SVD). This review focuses on the pericardial tissue at the heart of these valves, examining how its mechanical properties and calcification drive fatigue and failure.

Disencounters in an architectural intervention in historic centers between object and heritage subjects. Case study: Church of Belen, Cusco - Peru (2019-2022)

open access: yesESTOA: Revista de la Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la Universidad de Cuenca
As long as the built heritage is not appropriated by the heritage subjects such as the population involved and the state, any architectural conservation intervention will be indifferent. Exposing the possibility of its transmission to future generations.

Beyond Presumptions: Toward Mechanistic Clarity in Metal‐Free Carbon Catalysts for Electrochemical H2O2 Production via Data Science

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐free carbon catalysts enable the sustainable synthesis of hydrogen peroxide via two‐electron oxygen reduction; however, active site complexity continues to hinder reliable interpretation. This review critiques correlation‐based approaches and highlights the importance of orthogonal experimental designs, standardized catalyst passports ...

De Rerum Natura: How Do Halide Perovskites Self‐Heal From Damage?

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
How can lead‐halide‐perovskites self‐heal after damage from light, heat, mechanical strain, or radiation? We show that reversible chemical defects underly performance losses and recovery, highlighting the roles of halide and proton migration, redox‐driven reactions, and acid‐base equilibria.

Authenticity between pure theory and practical application – the barrier of words

open access: yesOchrona Dziedzictwa Kulturowego
The theory on authenticity can generate disputes depending to the geographical and cultural space of those who define this concept. It seems, however, that this ideological dispute (see the Petzet-Araoz dialogue), tends to remain an abstraction related ...

Rethinking Extracellular Vesicle Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Extracellular vesicles enable cell communication beyond intracellular cargo delivery. This perspective highlights two plausible surface‐based signaling modes: “bind‐and‐stay” and “bind‐and‐leave.” Transient binding to multiple cells challenges the one‐vesicle‐one‐cell model.
