Prognostic role of TAPSE to PASP ratio in outpatients with left ventricular systolic dysfunction
Abstract Aims Few data are available regarding the role of tricuspid annulus plane systolic excursion to pulmonary artery systolic pressure (TAPSE/PASP), a measurement of right ventricular to pulmonary artery coupling, in patients with chronic heart failure and left ventricular systolic dysfunction.

Long-Term Results of Mitral Valve Repair
Introduction: Current guidelines state that patients with severe mitral regurgitation should be treated in reference centers with a high reparability rate, low mortality rate, and durable results.

Perforation of anterior mitral leaflet aneurysm: A rare cause of severe mitral regurgitation
Mitral valve perforation is a rare cause of severe mitral regurgitation. Infective endocarditis, connective tissue disease, cardiac surgery and aortic regurgitation jet are blaming causes of mitral valve perforation.

Abstract Objective This study aimed to evaluate the utility of left atrial volume and function in uraemic patients using four‐dimensional automatic left atrial quantification (4D auto LAQ) technology. Methods Thirty‐four undialysed uraemic patients (U‐ND group), 60 dialysed uraemic patients (U‐D group), and 32 healthy volunteers (N group) were enrolled

Assessment of mitral valve regurgitation by cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging
Mitral regurgitation (MR) is a common valvular heart disease and is the second most frequent indication for heart valve surgery in Western countries. Echocardiography is the recommended first-line test for the assessment of valvular heart disease, but ...

Abstract Aims Amyloid cardiomyopathy is caused by the deposition of light chain (AL) or transthyretin amyloid (ATTR) fibrils, that leads to a restrictive cardiomyopathy, often resulting in heart failure (HF) with preserved or reduced ejection fraction.

Successful Transcatheter Edge-To-Edge Repair for Chronic Mitral Regurgitation Following Papillary Muscle Rupture. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Papillary muscle rupture (PMR) is a rare myocardial infarction complication, often associated with high surgical risk. This report highlights transcatheter edge‐to‐edge mitral valve repair as a feasible and less invasive alternative for high‐risk patients with chronic PMR.

Two distinct pathways can lead to functional mitral regurgitation (MR) in patients with chronic heart failure and a reduced ejection fraction. When remodeling and enlargement of the left ventricle (LV) causes annular dilatation and tethering of the ...

Impact of Mitral Surgery for Mitral Regurgitation on Coexisting Aortic Regurgitation
There is no clear finding on the course of coexisting aortic regurgitation (AR) after treatment of mitral regurgitation (MR). We investigated the effect of mitral surgery for MR on coexisting AR.Between January 2008 and December 2016, 75 patients underwent mitral surgery for MR coexisting mild AR.

The TAPSE/SPAP ratio is associated with worse prognosis in patients with significant tricuspid regurgitation and could indicate at‐risk patients. The exact cutoff value for RV‐PA uncoupling remains difficult to define and in available studies ranged from 0.26 to 0.49 mm/mmHg.
