5D Flow MRI Reveals Respiration‐Driven Changes in Blood Flow Energetics in Congenital Heart Disease

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 3, Page 1342-1354, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Hemodynamic monitoring is essential for patients with right‐sided congenital heart disease (CHD). Respiration may have an increased impact on pulmonary flow in these patients that cannot be assessed by standard tools including 4D flow MRI. This study uses 5D flow MRI to assess respiratory‐cycle variations in flow energetics in patients

Targeted Anti‐IL‐1 Immunomodulatory Therapy in Pediatric Onset PPP1R13L‐Related Arrhythmogenic Cardiomyopathy

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, Volume 200, Issue 8, Page 1807-1813, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Autosomal recessive loss‐of‐function variants in PPP1R13L cause an ultra‐rare cardiocutaneous syndrome characterized by rapidly progressive arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (ACM). PPP1R13L encodes iASPP, which has two potentially overlapping mechanisms driving ACM as both a regulator of NFκB‐mediated inflammation and a binding partner within the ...

Transcatheter Mitral Valve Implantation in Failed Transventricular Mitral Valve Repair

open access: yes
An 84-year-old man presented with dyspnea at rest due to severe mitral regurgitation. He first underwent transventricular mitral valve repair with the Harpoon system, which relapsed owing to rupture of neochords.

Early Developmental Neuronal Activity Impacts Oligodendrocyte Differentiation Through AMPA Receptors

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 8, August 2026.
In early brain development, neuronal activity reduces OPC differentiation. Decreased neuronal activity changes oligodendrocyte gene expression, including upregulating glutamate receptor genes. AMPA signaling regulates the final stages of OPC differentiation.
