Deep learning framework for interpretable quality control of echocardiography video

open access: yesMedical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Echocardiography (echo) has become an indispensable tool in modern cardiology, offering real‐time imaging that helps clinicians evaluate heart function and identify abnormalities. Despite these advantages, the acquisition of high‐quality echo is time‐consuming, labor‐intensive, and highly subjective.

Age‐Dependent Correlation of Pulmonary Function Impairment and Aortic Arch Stiffness in Mice

open access: yesPediatric Discovery, EarlyView.
This study examined the relationship between aortic arch stiffness and lung function in aging mice. Multiple linear regression modeling showed moderate to strong correlations between the rise in aortic arch stiffness and changes in lung function as the mice progressively aged.

Effect of Parametric Variation of Chordae Tendineae Structure on Simulated Atrioventricular Valve Closure [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Many approaches have been used to model chordae tendineae geometries in finite element simulations of atrioventricular heart valves. Unfortunately, current "functional" chordae tendineae geometries lack fidelity that would be helpful when informing clinical decisions.

Nonlinear control of a hybrid pneumo‐hydraulic mock circuit of the cardiovascular system

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
Abstract Hybrid cardiovascular mock circuits (HMC), designed for dynamic testing of Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), offer physiologic accuracy by sequestering model complexity in silico and ease of construction by reducing number of model elements in vitro.
