Prabhakar-like fractional viscoelasticity

open access: yes, 2017
The aim of this paper is to present a linear viscoelastic model based on Prabhakar fractional operators. In particular, we propose a modification of the classical fractional Maxwell model, in which we replace the Caputo derivative with the Prabhakar one.

3D investigation and modeling of the geometric effects on porosity in packed beds

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract In porous beds, physical boundaries restrict particle arrangement, leading to inhomogeneous porosity. This paper reports on the porosity profiles that are the result of geometric effects on monodisperse packed beds in cylindrical and cubic arrangements. Special focus is given to the influence of edges and corners in cubic geometries.

The Mittag-Leffler Fitting of the Phillips Curve

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper, a mathematical model based on the one-parameter Mittag-Leffler function is proposed to be used for the first time to describe the relation between unemployment rate and inflation rate, also known as the Phillips curve.

Thermal Conductance and Mass Transport of Brinkman‐Type Nanofluids Across Porous Plates: A Prabhakar‐Fractional Approach

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The paper establishes an advanced computing algorithm to investigate the thermosolutal dynamics of an electrically conductive Brinkman‐type nanofluid that moves in a porous channel, and the fluid is acted on by an inclined magnetic field exerted externally.

q-Invariant Functions for Some Generalizations of the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck Semigroup [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We show that the multiplication operator associated to a fractional power of a Gamma random variable, with parameter q>0, maps the convex cone of the 1-invariant functions for a self-similar semigroup into the convex cone of the q-invariant functions for

Tur\'an type inequalities for regular Coulomb wave functions

open access: yes, 2015
Tur\'an, Mitrinovi\'c-Adamovi\'c and Wilker type inequalities are deduced for regular Coulomb wave functions. The proofs are based on a Mittag-Leffler expansion for the regular Coulomb wave function, which may be of independent interest.

Generalized k-Mittag-Leffler function and its composition with pathway integral operators

open access: yesJournal of Nonlinear Sciences and Applications, 2016
Summary: Our purpose in this paper is to consider a more generalized form of the Mittag-Leffler function. For this newly defined function, we obtain certain composition formulas with pathway fractional integral operators. We also point out some important special cases of the main results.

On the analyzing of bifurcation properties of the one‐dimensional Mackey–Glass model by using a generalized approach

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
The goal of this work is to look at how a nonlinear model describes hematopoiesis and its complexities utilizing commonly used techniques with historical and material links. Based on time delay, the Mackey–Glass model is explored in two instances. To offer a range, the relevance of the parameter impacting stability (bifurcation) is recorded.
