Structural dynamic characteristics analysis of a mixed-flow pump based on fluid–structure coupling

open access: yesAIP Advances
Mixed flow pump has received widespread applications in various perspectives, therefore, enhancing the operational stability is crucial to pump design and applications. To address this phenomenon, the present work explores the efficacy of fluid–structure

Recycling of NiTi Shape Memory Alloys: Fundamental and Technological Aspects of a Vacuum Induction Melting Processing Route

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The present study investigates recycling of NiTi shape memory alloys via vacuum induction melting. An ingot was synthesized from elemental Ni and Ti and subjected to three subsequent remelting cycles. Remelting increases process durations and impurity levels and adversely affects microstructures and functional properties.

Experimental characterization and modelling of a cavitating centrifugal pump operating in fast start-up conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The start-up of rocket engine turbopumps is generally performed only in a few seconds. It implies that these pumps reach their nominal operating conditions after only a few rotations.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Diagnosis of Centrifugal Pump Faults Using Vibration Methods

open access: yes, 2012
Pumps are the largest single consumer of power in industry. This means that faulty pumps cause a high rate of energy loss with associated performance degradation, high vibration levels and significant noise radiation.

Assessment Of Wear Erosion In Pump Impellers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
LectureWear erosion needs special attention in pump design as it can lead to severe damage of the pump and restrict its lifetime significantly. It therefore determines to a large extent the selection of a pump.

Dynamic Simulation and Field Application Analysis of Liquid-gas Mixed Rod Pump using FLUENT Software

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2017
The barrel structure of conventional subsurface pump is usually modified in order to address the issue of gas lock in the production process of high gas-oil ratio well, thus the liquid-gas mixed rod pump has been designed. The working process of the pump ...

Enhancing Bubble Removal in Geometry‐Optimized Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
3D‐printed lattice electrodes outperform stochastic foams in alkaline water electrolysis despite 20%–25% lower surface area. Straight flow channels generate Venturi‐like bubble entrainment, suppressing gas accumulation that renders foam interiors electrochemically inactive.

A CFD parametric study of geometrical variations on the pressure pulsations and performance characteristics of a centrifugal pump. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Pressure pulsations may be troublesome during the operation and performance of centrifugal pumps. Such pressure pulsations have traditionally been investigated experimentally but numerical analysis techniques allow these effects to be explored. The multi-
