The design and flow simulation of the volute casing of a mixed flow pump
Proceedings of 2011 International Conference on Electronic & Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology, 2011Based on the three dimensional geometry of the prototype design of a mixed flow pump, a numerical flow simulation and analytic platform based on commercial CFD software NUMECA was established to simulate the three-dimensional flows in the pumps. The pump volute with scroll-type and different cross-sections were studied.

Three-dimensional numerical simulations were performed to study the internal flow of a mixed-flow pump impeller under design conditions, by using commercial CFD software - NUMECA, specifically developed for the flow analysis of turbo-machinery. The agreement between the calculated results and the experimental data proved that the adopted numerical ...

Scale Effects in a Mixed Flow Pump: Part 1
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part A: Power and Process Engineering, 1986The variation of efficiency and losses over a range of Reynolds numbers has been measured for a mixed flow pump of specific speed 118 r/min for a number of points covering its operating range. The losses have been separated into those of the impeller and volute.

Predictive Erosion Model for Mixed Flow Centrifugal Pump
Journal of Energy Resources Technology, 2019Electrical submersible pumps (ESPs) are widely used in upstream oil production. The presence of a low concentration solid phase, particle-laden flow, in the production fluid may cause severe damage in the internal sections of the pump which reduces its operating lifetime.

Aerodynamic Redesign of a Mixed-Flow Pump
2003The aerodynamic redesign of a mixed-flow pump stage was carried out by means of CFD analyses. The goal of this process was to improve the stage efficiency and suction capability over the whole working range. The original configuration was first analyzed and critical elements affecting its performance were identified.
