Energy Flexibilization and Demand Response for a Novel Decentralized Power‐to‐Methanol Process

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
This study presents the results of an optimization framework for the scheduling of a Power‐to‐methanol process coupled with an electrolyser, renewable energy sources and a battery. The optimal dynamic operating schedule is computed with different configurations and boundary conditions, showing the advantages of flexible operation.

Restricted Tweedie stochastic block models

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract The stochastic block model (SBM) is a widely used framework for community detection in networks, where the network structure is typically represented by an adjacency matrix. However, conventional SBMs are not directly applicable to an adjacency matrix that consists of nonnegative zero‐inflated continuous edge weights.

Tuning Colloidal Stability and Photothermal Conversion Efficiency of Graphite Nanofluids via Anionic‐Nonionic Surfactant Engineering

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Graphite nanofluids were stabilized using a mixed SDS/Tween 80 surfactant system. The optimized formulation exhibited enhanced colloidal stability, red‐shifted UV–Vis absorption, and improved photothermal conversion under solar irradiation. Achieving stable dispersion of graphite flakes (GFs) in aqueous media remains a critical challenge in developing ...

Investigation and Evaluation of Wax Deposition Treatment Methods in Large Natural Gas Plants

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Problem: Wax blockage (Biphenyl, PAHs) in low‐temperature units crippled plant capacity. Solution: A novel Circulating Light Hydrocarbon Injection technology. Mechanism: Light hydrocarbons disrupt wax crystals via “like dissolves like” and are continuously recovered. Outcome: 1. Throughput dropped from 10 MMscmd to 3 MMscmd 2.
