Tools for reformulating logical forms into zero-one mixed integer programs (MIPS)

open access: yes, 1992
A systematic procedure for transforming a set of logical statements or logical conditions imposed on a model into an Integer Linear Programming (ILP) formulation or a Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) formulation is presented.

Building phenotypic character matrices for phylogenetic inference: exploration of 35 years of practice

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Recent methodological development in phylogenetic inference has focused predominantly on molecular data. However, renewed interest in other data types, particularly morphological data, has followed from the increased recognition of the power of total evidence and tip‐dating approaches, including fossil data, for inference of time‐scaled trees ...

Constrained infinite group relaxations of MIPs [PDF]

open access: yes
Recently minimal and extreme inequalities for continuous group relaxations of general mixed integer sets have been characterized. In this paper, we consider a stronger relaxation of general mixed integer sets by allowing constraints, such as bounds, on ...

Operations Research‐Based Formalisation and Design of Sustainable Reverse Logistics for E‐Waste Supply Chains

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study demonstrates how a profitable, lean, and environmentally responsible e‐waste reverse logistics system can be designed using integrated Operations Research (OR) techniques. Addressing the growing urgency of responsible consumption (UN SDG 12) and the projected rise of the e‐waste sector to USD 137.60 billion by 2029, the research ...

Computer assisted modelling of linear, integer and separable programming problems

open access: yes, 1984
For mathematical programming (MP) to have greater impact upon the decision making process, MP software systems must offer suitable support in terms of model communication and modelling techniques .

Artificial Intelligence–Driven and Digital Practices for Circular Business and Finance: Insights for Advancing Hubs for Circularity

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The emerging concept of Hubs for Circularity (H4Cs) presents an opportunity to create collaborative, self‐sustaining regional industrial ecosystems that drive circular economy transitions at scale. However, the operationalisation of H4Cs faces financial, organisational and data‐driven challenges.

Designing a Forest Road Network Using Mixed Integer Programming

open access: yesCroatian Journal of Forest Engineering, 2013
Forest roads are an essential yet costly part of forest management, and optimization methods are important tools for planning road systems to support harvesting.

Mixed integer programming on transputers [PDF]

open access: yes
Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) problems occur in many industries and their practical solution can be challenging in terms of both time and effort. Although faster computer hardware has allowed the solution of more MIP problems in reasonable times, there will come a point when the hardware cannot be speeded up any more.

Can Credit Rating Changes Affect Corporate Carbon Emissions? Some Evidence From the S&P 500

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Using panel data on US S&P 500 firms from 2012 to 2024, this study examines how credit rating changes affect corporate carbon performance. Drawing on the resource‐based view and prospect theory, we show that credit rating downgrades lead to a statistically and economically significant deterioration in emission reduction scores.
