To enhance the power restoration speed of networked microgrids (NMGs) after extreme natural disasters and reduce the power outage of the system, this paper proposes a rapid post‐disaster restoration method for NMGs based co‐optimization of fault repair and load restoration.

Enhanced Mixed Integer Programming Techniques and Routing Problems [PDF]
Mixed integer programming is up today one of the most widely used techniques for dealing with hard optimization problems. On the one side, many practical optimization problems arising from real-world applications (such as, e.g., scheduling, project ...

Identifiability of points and rigidity of hypergraphs under algebraic constraints
Abstract The identifiability problem arises naturally in a number of contexts in mathematics and computer science. Specific instances include local or global rigidity of graphs and unique completability of partially‐filled tensors subject to rank conditions.

Cutting Planes for Mixed Integer Programming [PDF]
My work focuses on cutting planes technology in Mixed Integer Programming. I explore novel classes of valid linear inequalities to strengthen linear relaxations of both Linear and Nonlinear Mixed Integer problems.

Actuation of Cell Layers in Three Dimensions
ABSTRACT The alignment of fibers and cells in living tissues affect their mechanical properties and functionality. In this context, one can draw an analogy between tissues and nematic liquid crystal elastomers. We explore this analogy by growing fibroblasts on 2D‐patterned substrates and observing the contraction of cell sheets upon detachment from the

Comparison between mixed-integer and second order cone programming for autonomous overtaking [PDF]
This paper concerns optimally controlling an autonomous vehicle to perform safe and comfortable overtaking of a slower moving leading vehicle. The contribution is an analysis of the comparisons between a convex relaxation with the standard mixed integer ...

Topological Point Defects in SmC* Liquid Crystals Under Mechanical Disturbance
Tangetial air jet shear inducess island formation and nucleates topological point defects in uniform SmC films. Island bounded by edge dislocation loops shrink and transform into isolated point defects under continued shear. Mechanical perturbatio provides a controllable route for defect engineering in smectric liquid crystal thin films.

Imaging of Biphoton States: Fundamentals and Applications
Quantum states of two photons exhibit a rich polarization and spatial structure, which provides a fundamental resource of strongly correlated and entangled states. This review analyzes the physics of these intriguing properties and explores the various techniques and technologies available to measure them, including the state of the art of their ...
