Rapid microwave plasma torch engineering tunes crystal phases, carbon graphitization and oxygen‐vacancy defects in HfO2/C@C core‐shell fibrous membranes. Synergistic multi‐loss effects optimize impedance matching to deliver −65.75 dB reflection loss and a 7.37 GHz effective bandwidth for flexible electromagnetic wave absorption.

A new test method for mode Ⅰ dynamic fracture toughness of ceramic materials
To address the longstanding challenge of accurately evaluating the dynamic fracture toughness of ceramic materials, a new mode I dynamic fracture testing method was developed based on the conventional split-Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) technique.

Mixed-Mode I/II fracture behavior of asymmetric composite joints
The partitioning of the total strain energy release rate, G(tot), into the Mode I, G(I), and Mode II, G(II), components is challenging, especially in asymmetric cracks.

Photo‐Switchable Molecular Module Programming PET Biodegradation in Aquatic Environments
We address the plastic durability paradox by integrating an itaconic acid–derived pyrrolidone module into polymer backbones. Sunlight in water triggers Norrish Type I ring‐opening and hydrophilization, enabling rapid biodegradation into nontoxic minerals.

Mixed-mode I+II fracture characterization of bovine bone tissue using the SLB test [PDF]
Fracture of bone in vivo generally occurs as a result of multiaxial loaded conditions, which leads to complex mixed-mode stress-states involving the combination of tension, compression and shear. As a result of this the characterization of the mixed-mode

A material model to reproduce mixed-mode fracture in concrete
This paper presents a material model to reproduce crack propagation in cement-based material specimens under mixed-mode loading. Its numerical formulation is based on the cohesive crack model, proposed by Hillerborg, and extended for the mixed-mode case.

Rapid thermal annealing reconstructs the BCFO/Nb:STO interface into an atomically thin reconstructed interfacial layer, which reshapes the tunneling barrier and converts a high‐TER ferroelectric tunnel junction into an intrinsically nonlinear, self‐rectifying device.

Amphoteric Cu‐Doping Leading to High Thermoelectric Performance in p‐Type Bismuth Antimony Telluride
This study shows that Cu plays two opposite roles in p‐type Bi0.5Sb1.5Te3 depending on the processing route. Under thermodynamic‐equilibrium bulk‐synthesis, Cu mainly occupies cation sites, increases hole concentration, preserves mobility, and slightly reduces lattice heat transport. The best‐performing composition among the investigated series reaches
