Crafting better team climate: the benefits of using creative methods during team initiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This study employs a mixed methods approach to investigate the effect of creative methods, the combinative use of model building and storytelling, during team initiation on team climate, a critical people-related factor in the management of collective ...

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Nitrogen management of organic winter wheat Decision-making through model-based explorations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In organic wheat, nitrogen is one of the key limiting factors responsible for irregular productivity and low quality (David et al, 2005b), 5 to 50 % less than conventionally managed crops (Nieberg and Schulze Pals, 1996).

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Assessment of Urban Districts in Terms of their Compliance with Public Transport Based Development Principles; The Case of Tehran Kooy-e Nasr District [PDF]

open access: yesصفه, 2017
In recent years urban development approaches based on public transport (Transit-Oriented Development) have attracted attentions. Despite the emphasis on the term ‘public transport’, rapid transport systems and their proximity alone is not enough. In this

Agricultural Productivity Growth in Africa: Is Efficiency Catching-up or Lagging Behind? [PDF]

open access: yes
Recent empirical studies on agricultural productivity growth in African countries have produced mixed results; some find that uptake of new technology (technical progress) is the main source of total factor productivity growth while others point to ...

Mischung: Possible! Impulses for mixed use and flexible capacities in contemprary densely built urban areas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Contemporary densely built urban quarters lack impulses for mixed use and flexible capacities, often resulting in almost mono-functional housing areas. The aim of the paper is to explore this widely disregarded link between theory and practice in urban ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Industry and Foreign Trade in India, China and OECD countries: an analysis of causality, 1960-2002 [PDF]

open access: yes
We analyse causality relationships between industry and foreign trade in three major areas of the world economy: India, China and OECD countries for the period 1960-2002, and found that the effect of imports is usually positive and significant to favour ...

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.
