Sharing Qualitative and Qualitative Longitudinal Data in the UK: Archiving Strategies and Development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Over the past two decades significant developments have occurred in the archiving of qualitative data in the UK. The first national archive for qualitative resources, Qualidata, was established in 1994.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Developer-Planner Interaction in Transportation and Land Use Sustainability, MTI Report 01-21 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
This study argues that significant unmet demand exists for alternatives to conventional auto-oriented development; and further that planning interventions that restrict densities and land use mixing in developed areas are a major reason that this demand ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Towards contextualising mixed-use in South Africa [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The development of mixed-use precincts is an age old idea in the context of Europe and America, but a reasonably new notion in the developing country of South Africa.

Applying multiple testing procedures to detect change in East African vegetation

open access: yes, 2014
The study of vegetation fluctuations gives valuable information toward effective land use and development. We consider this problem for the East African region based on the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) series from satellite remote ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Identification and prediction of mixed-use functional areas supported by POI data in Jinan City of China

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
The urban development of China is changing from incremental expansion to stock renewal mode. The study of urban functional areas has become one of the important fundamental works in current urban renewal and high-quality urban development.

Cross-case analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Prior to the development of low-cost computing and the ease of completing statistical analysis, case studies played a significant role in the development of the social sciences.

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...
