Quantum gravity: mixed states from diffeomorphism anomalies [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2011
In a previous paper, we discussed simple examples like particle on a circle and molecules to argue that mixed states can arise from anomalous symmetries. This idea was applied to the breakdown (anomaly) of color SU(3) in the presence of non-abelian monopoles. Such mixed states create entropy as well.

Gravitational anomalies of fermionic higher-spin fields

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
Using the Atiyah-Singer index theorem, we formally compute gravitational anomalies for fermionic higher-spin fields in two, six and ten dimensions, as well as the U(1) mixed gauge-gravitational anomaly in four dimensions.

Mixed states from anomalies

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2012
There are several instances where quantum anomalies of continuous and discrete classical symmetries play an important role in fundamental physics. Examples come from chiral anomalies in the Standard Model of fundamental interactions and gravitational anomalies in string theories.

Moving Average Filter untuk Memisahkan Efek Dangkal Anomali Gravitasi Time Lapse

open access: yesPrisma Sains: Jurnal Pengkajian Ilmu dan Pembelajaran Matematika dan IPA IKIP Mataram, 2019
[Title: Moving Average Filter for Time Lapse Gravity Anomaly Separation]. Interpretation of time-lapse gravity anomaly due to fluid injection in the reservoir is difficult when it mixed with shallow source anomalies. To solve the kind of problem, anomaly

Anomaly Detection Algorithm Based on SSC-BP Neural Network [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji kexue, 2021
Aiming at the increasing number and complexity of new network attacks in the Internet of Things environment, the traditional anomaly detection algorithm has high false alarm rate, low detection rate and large amount of data, which cause calculation ...

Mixed gauge and gravitational chiral anomalies

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1985
Abstract We consider critically some recent results on the breaking of global and local Lorentz invariance by a chiral fermion coupled to a gauge field, and we obtain a new formulation of mixed gauge gravitational anomalies that shows in particular an equivalence among Lorentz, Einstein and gauge anomalies.

Factor analysis of mixed data for anomaly detection

open access: yesStatistical Analysis and Data Mining: The ASA Data Science Journal, 2022
AbstractAnomaly detection aims to identify observations that deviate from the typical pattern of data. Anomalous observations may correspond to financial fraud, health risks, or incorrectly measured data in practice. We focus on unsupervised detection and the continuous and categorical (mixed) variable case.

Extratropical-cyclone-induced sea surface temperature anomalies in the 2013–2014 winter [PDF]

open access: yesWeather and Climate Dynamics, 2020
The 2013–2014 winter averaged sea surface temperature (SST) was anomalously cool in the mid-North Atlantic region. This season was also unusually stormy, with extratropical cyclones passing over the mid-North Atlantic every 3 d.

Regression Tree Based Explanation for Anomaly Detection Algorithm

open access: yesProceedings, 2020
This work presents EADMNC (Explainable Anomaly Detection on Mixed Numerical and Categorical spaces), a novel approach to address explanation using an anomaly detection algorithm, ADMNC, which provides accurate detections on mixed numerical and ...

Comments on QCD3 and anomalies with fundamental and adjoint matter

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
’t Hooft anomaly matching is powerful for constraining the low energy phases of gauge theories. In 3d one common anomaly is the parity anomaly in a T-symmetric theory where one cannot gauge the global symmetry group without breaking the time-reversal ...
