Anomalies involving the space of couplings and the Zamolodchikov metric
The anomaly polynomial of a theory can involve not only curvature two-forms of the flavor symmetry background but also two-forms on the space of coupling constants.

Anomaly interplay in U(2) gauge theories
We discuss anomaly cancellation in U(2) gauge theories in four dimensions. For a U(2) gauge theory defined with a spin structure, the vanishing of the bordism group Ω 5 Spin $$ {\Omega}_5^{\mathrm{Spin}} $$ (BU(2)) implies that there can be no global ...

Thermodynamics, gravitational anomalies and cones [PDF]
By studying the Euclidean partition function on a cone, we argue that pure and mixed gravitational anomalies generate a "Casimir momentum" which manifests itself as parity violating coefficients in the hydrodynamic stress tensor and charge current.

Weakly Supervised Anomaly Detection for Chest X-Ray Image [PDF]
Chest X-Ray (CXR) examination is a common method for assessing thoracic diseases in clinical applications. While recent advances in deep learning have enhanced the significance of visual analysis for CXR anomaly detection, current methods often miss key cues in anomaly images crucial for identifying disease regions, as they predominantly rely on ...

Anomaly matching in QCD thermal phase transition
We study an ’t Hooft anomaly of massless QCD at finite temperature. With the imaginary baryon chemical potential at the Roberge-Weiss point, there is a ℤ2 symmetry which can be used to define confinement.

Localized anomalies in orbifold gauge theories [PDF]
We apply the path-integral formalism to compute the anomalies in general orbifold gauge theories (including possible non-trivial Scherk-Schwarz boundary conditions) where a gauge group G is broken down to subgroups H_f at the fixed points y=y_f. Bulk and localized anomalies, proportional to \delta(y-y_f), do generically appear from matter propagating ...

Factor Analysis of Mixed Data for Anomaly Detection [PDF]
Anomaly detection aims to identify observations that deviate from the typical pattern of data. Anomalous observations may correspond to financial fraud, health risks, or incorrectly measured data in practice. We show detecting anomalies in high-dimensional mixed data is enhanced through first embedding the data then assessing an anomaly scoring scheme.

A Potential Reason for a More CP El Nino‐Like SSTA Performance in CMIP6 Simulations
A systematic bias of the extremely westward zonal current (EWZC) was revealed over the equatorial Pacific in Coupled Model Intercomparison Project 6 (CMIP6) models.

Experimental signatures of the mixed axial-gravitational anomaly in the Weyl semimetal NbP [PDF]
Weyl semimetals are materials where electrons behave effectively as a kind of massless relativistic particles known asWeyl fermions. These particles occur in two flavours, or chiralities, and are subject to quantum anomalies, the breaking of a conservation law by quantum fluctuations.
