Correlation functions of boundary field theory from bulk Green's functions and phases in the boundary theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
In the context of the bulk-boundary correspondence we study the correlation functions arising on a boundary for different types of boundary conditions. The most general condition is the mixed one interpolating between the Neumann and Dirichlet conditions.

Blow-Up of the Solution for a Semilinear Parabolic Problem with a Mixed Source

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
A semilinear parabolic equation with the Dirichlet boundary condition is examined. The reaction source is a mixed nonlinear function. This paper investigates the existence and uniqueness of a solution.

Smoothed projections and mixed boundary conditions

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 2018
Mixed boundary conditions are introduced to finite element exterior calculus. We construct smoothed projections from Sobolev de Rham complexes onto finite element de Rham complexes which commute with the exterior derivative, preserve homogeneous boundary conditions along a fixed boundary part, and satisfy uniform bounds for shape-regular families of ...

Scalar Field Theory in the AdS/CFT Correspondence Revisited

open access: yes, 2000
We consider the role of boundary conditions in the $AdS_{d+1}/CFT_{d}$ correspondence for the scalar field theory. Also a careful analysis of some limiting cases is presented.

A rigorous formulation of drain boundary conditions for groundwater flow modeling in geotechnical engineering

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering
Drains play an important role in seepage control in geotechnical engineering. The enormous number and one-dimensional (1D) geometry of drainage holes make their nature difficult to be accurately modeled in groundwater flow simulation.

Laplacian transfer across a rough interface: Numerical resolution in the conformal plane

open access: yes, 2005
We use a conformal mapping technique to study the Laplacian transfer across a rough interface. Natural Dirichlet or Von Neumann boundary condition are simply read by the conformal map.

The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

A simple and accurate mixed Ritz-DQM formulation for free vibration of rectangular plates involving free corners

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2016
It is well known that the classical global approximation methods such as the conventional Ritz method and the conventional differential quadrature method (DQM) have some difficulty in determining the natural frequencies of rectangular plates involving ...

Solution of the mixed boundary problem for the Poisson equation on two-dimensional irregular domains

open access: yesInformatika, 2023
Objectives. A finite-difference computational algorithm is proposed for solving a mixed boundary-value problem for the Poisson equation given in two-dimensional irregular domains.Methods. To solve the problem, generalized curvilinear coordinates are used.

A game interpretation of the Neumann problem for fully nonlinear parabolic and elliptic equations

open access: yes, 2012
We provide a deterministic-control-based interpretation for a broad class of fully nonlinear parabolic and elliptic PDEs with continuous Neumann boundary conditions in a smooth domain.
