A mixed control chart to monitor the process

open access: yesInternational Journal of Production Research, 2015
In this paper, we propose a mixed control chart to monitor the process quality using attribute data combined with variable data. The proposed control chart proceeds like an np control chart based on the number of nonconforming parts but requires variable data only when the decision is indeterminate.

Mixed CUSUM-EWMA chart for monitoring process dispersion

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2016
Every industrial process has to encounter two types of variation in product characteristic(s) that can be classified as common and special cause variations. These variations can exist in any parameters (like location, dispersion, shape, etc.) of the distribution of process characteristic.

A mixed control chart using process capability index

open access: yesSequential Analysis, 2017
ABSTRACTControl charts are considered as a compulsory tool for the monitoring and improvement of the quality of products. The commonly used attribute and the variable control charts are unsatisfactory for process monitoring. To overcome this difficulty, we proposed a monitoring scheme that is an improved technique based on the joint merits of the ...

A mixed nonparametric control chart for efficient process monitoring

International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2018
In this paper, we propose a nonparametric mixed control chart using exponentially weighted moving average and cumulative sum (statistics for efficient monitoring of quality characteristic). The proposed control chart, namely NPMEC chart, proceeds in two steps.

Mixed Tukey EWMA-CUSUM control chart and its applications

Quality Technology and Quantitative Management, 2017
AbstractTukey control chart (TCC) is a popular choice for robust monitoring of process parameters. With the advancement in technology, we develop refined techniques that incorporate multiple aspects in a single structure. This article is a similar effort to design an improved charting structure in the form of mixed Tukey EWMA-CUSUM chart (namely MEC ...

A Mixed EWMA–CUSUM Control Chart for Weibull‐Distributed Quality Characteristics

Quality and Reliability Engineering International, 2016
The control charts have been widely used for process monitoring. Shewhart control chart has ability to detect large disturbances in the process. The EWMA and CUSUM charts have ability to detect a small change in the manufacturing process. In this paper, we will design a mixed EWMA–CUSUM control chart for Weibull‐distributed quality characteristics. The

Multivariate Control Chart Based on Kernel PCA for Monitoring Mixed Variable and Attribute Quality Characteristics

open access: yesSymmetry, 2020
The need for a control chart that can visualize and recognize the symmetric or asymmetric pattern of the monitoring process with more than one type of quality characteristic is a necessity in the era of Industry 4.0.

TheT2chart with mixed samples to control bivariate autocorrelated processes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Production Research, 2016
In this paper, we propose the use of the T2 chart with the mixed sampling strategy (MS) to monitor the mean vector of bivariate processes with observations that fit to a first-order vector autoregressive model.

A Mixed-Initiative Approach to Reusing Infographic Charts

IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, 2022
Infographic bar charts have been widely adopted for communicating numerical information because of their attractiveness and memorability. However, these infographics are often created manually with general tools, such as PowerPoint and Adobe Illustrator, and merely composed of primitive visual elements, such as text blocks and shapes.

Multivariate semiparametric control charts for mixed-type data

Statistical Methods in Medical Research, 2023
A useful tool that has gained popularity in the Quality Control area is the control chart which monitors a process over time, identifies potential changes, understands variations, and eventually improves the quality and performance of the process.
