Green synthesis and biological evaluation of novel 5-fluorouracil derivatives as potent anticancer agents [PDF]
This study reports the formation of 5-FU co-crystals with four different pharmacologically safe co-formers; Urea, Thiourea, Acetanilide and Aspirin using methanol as a solvent. Two fabrication schemes were followed i.e., solid-state grinding protocol, in

Mixed Crystal Disease: A Tale of 2 Crystals [PDF]
A report published in this issue of The Journal estimated the recurrence rate of acute calcium pyrophosphate (CPP) crystal arthritis and its associated factors1 on 111 patients with a first acute flare of CPP arthritis. Of these, 13 were considered to have gout on top of fulfilling the study’s definition of acute CPP crystal arthritis: 1 had monosodium

Electrical Conductivity in the KDP, ADP, and K1-x(NH4)xH2PO4 Crystals [PDF]
Impedance Spectroscopy was performed to examine the electrical conductivity on KH2PO4 KDP, (NH4)H2PO4 ADP and K1-x(NH4)xH2PO4 (x = 0.076, 0.118, 0.357, 0.857, 0.942) crystals with increasing temperature.

Seeking Rules Governing Mixed Molecular Crystallization
Mixed crystals result when components of the structure are randomly replaced by analogues in ratios that can be varied continuously over certain ranges. Mixed crystals are useful because their properties can be adjusted by increments, simply by altering the ratio of components.

Electrical and dielectrical properties of composites based on (Ag1–xCux)7GeS5I mixed crystals
Polymer composites were prepared from (Ag 1–x Cu x ) 7 GeS 5 I mixed crystals grown using Bridgman–Stockbarger method. The impedance measurements were performed at room temperature in the frequency range 10 –3 –2·10 6 Hz.

Structure and Raman spectra of (Cu6PS5I)1–x(Cu7PS6)x mixed crystals
Mixed (Cu6PS5I)1–x(Cu7PS6)x crystals were grown using a direct crystallization technique. Being based on the X-ray diffraction data, their crystal structure was studied, showing face-centred cubic lattice for Cu6PS5I-rich solid solutions (х < 0.12) and ...

Mixed state properties of superconducting MgB2 single crystals [PDF]
We report on measurements of the magnetic moment in superconducting MgB2 single crystals. We find \mu_0H_{c2}^c(0) = 3.2 T, \mu_0H_{c2}^{ab}(0) = 14.5 T, \gamma = 4.6, \mu_0H_c(0) = 0.28 T, and \kappa(T_c) = 4.7.

Effect of sulfur on the scintillation properties of mixed ZnSxSe1–x crystals
ZnSxSe1–x based luminescent materials are promising for use as X-ray and γ-ray detectors. The main advantage of ZnSxSe1–x crystals is the possibility of making of solid solutions over an entire X-range.

Compositional controls on melting and dissolving a salt into a ternary melt [PDF]
We explore theoretically the controls on dissolution of salt A, in an undersaturated brine of salts A and B. We show that, as the concentration of B increases, the dissolution rate of A decreases, for brine of given temperature.
