A derivation of entropy of mixing [PDF]

open access: yesRadiation Physics and Chemistry (1977), 1984
Abstract A simple method is proposed for obtaining the generally accepted formula of the concentration dependence of entropy in ideal solutions. The derivation, while implying a new definition of ideal mixtures, is independent both of macroscopic material properties and microscopic models.

Cabibbo mixing in superstring derived standard-like models [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1993
We examine the problem of generation mixing in realistic superstring derived standard--like models, constructed in the free fermionic formulation. We study the possible sources of family mixing in these models . In a specific model we estimate the Cabibbo angle.

Mixed-Derivative Total Variation

open access: yes
The formulation of norms on continuous-domain Banach spaces with exact pixel-based discretization is advantageous for solving inverse problems (IPs). In this paper, we investigate a new regularization that is a convex combination of a TV term and the $\M(\R^2)$ norm of mixed derivatives.

Inhibitive effect of azine and diazine derivatives on the corrosion of 316L SS in acidic media

open access: yesZaštita Materijala, 2014
The inhibiting effect of some azine and diazine derivatives on the corrosion of cyclic stressed 316L SS specimens in 3 M HCl in the presence of organic derivatives with concentrations (1×10-6 M - 11×10-6 M) at 30oC was studied using weight loss and ...

Lyapunov Inequalities for Two Dimensional Fractional Boundary-Value Problems with Mixed Fractional Derivatives

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
We consider two types of partial fractional differential equations in two dimensions with mixed fractional derivatives. Appropriate Lyapunov-type inequalities are proved, and applications to the certain eigenvalue problems are presented.

Formation of Mixed-Ligand Complexes of Pd2+ with Nucleoside 5'-Monophosphates and Some Metal-Ion-Binding Nucleoside Surrogates

open access: yesMolecules, 2014
Formation of mixed-ligand Pd2+ complexes between canonical nucleoside 5'-monophosphates and five metal-ion-binding nucleoside analogs has been studied by 1H-NMR spectroscopy to test the ability of these nucleoside surrogates to discriminate between ...

On a Five-Parameter Mittag-Leffler Function and the Corresponding Bivariate Fractional Operators

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2021
Several extensions of the classical Mittag-Leffler function, including multi-parameter and multivariate versions, have been used to define fractional integral and derivative operators.

Existence of solutions for a system of mixed fractional differential equations

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science, 2018
The aim of this work is to investigate, by the help of Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem, the existence of solutions for a system of fractional differential equations involving left and right Riemann–Liouville fractional derivatives.

Quinazoline Derivatives as Green Corrosion Inhibitors for Carbon Steel in Hydrochloric Acid Solutions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2013
The inhibiting effect of some quinazoline derivatives on the corrosion of carbon steel in 2 M HCl was studied by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy ...
