A derivation of entropy of mixing [PDF]
Abstract A simple method is proposed for obtaining the generally accepted formula of the concentration dependence of entropy in ideal solutions. The derivation, while implying a new definition of ideal mixtures, is independent both of macroscopic material properties and microscopic models.

We examine the problem of generation mixing in realistic superstring derived standard--like models, constructed in the free fermionic formulation. We study the possible sources of family mixing in these models . In a specific model we estimate the Cabibbo angle.
