A Description of Mixed Group Validation

Assessment, 2013
Mixed group validation (MGV) is a statistical model for estimating the diagnostic accuracy of tests. Unlike the more common approach to estimating criterion-related validity, known group validation (KGV), MGV does not require a perfect external validity criterion.

Mixed Abelian Groups

Canadian Journal of Mathematics, 1967
The difficulties encountered in the theory of mixed Abelian groups can become decidedly less complex, if it is possible to reduce the question to mixed groups whose torsion subgroup is ๐’ซ-primary. Call such a group a p-mixed group. In ยง1 we show that the splitting problem for a mixed group is reducible to the same problem for certain associated ๐’ซ-mixed ...

On commutative group algebras of mixed groups

Communications in Algebra, 1997
Suppose F is a perfect field of characteristic p 0 and G is an abelian group whose torsion subgroup Gt is p-primary. If Gt is totally projective of countable length, it is shown that G is a direct factor of the group of normalized units V(G) of the group algebra F(G) and that V(G)/G is a totally projective p-group.

Group Work with 'Mixed Membership' Groups

Social Work With Groups, 1994
SUMMARY The small group is a social microcosm of the wider society in which it is located. Patterns of social oppression will be repeated in social group work practice unless active steps are taken to counteract these tendencies and replace them with a culture of empowerment.

Mixed Groups of Finite Nilstufe

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1987
AbstractThis paper constructs a class of examples to show that for torsion-free groups H with finite nilstufe v(H) = n < โˆž there can be divisible torsion groups D with v(H โŠ• D) - n + k for all k โ‰ค n + 1. This answers a question of Feigelstock. The construction is based on a proposition which bounds v(H โŠ• D) in terms of v(H) and rank (D).

Notes on Mixed Groups I

1984
Part I of this paper appeared in [Proc. Conf., Udine/Italy 1984, CISM Courses Lect. 287, 265-278 (1984; Zbl 0566.20039)]. Sect. 4 is a classification of mixed groups which have a maximal rank tfree subgroup A such that \(\tau\) (A) is finite and \(\tau\) (A/pA)\(\leq 1\) for all primes p. Sect.
