MIXING FOR PROGRESSIONS IN NONABELIAN GROUPS [PDF]
AbstractWe study the mixing properties of progressions $(x, xg, x{g}^{2} )$, $(x, xg, x{g}^{2} , x{g}^{3} )$ of length three and four in a model class of finite nonabelian groups, namely the special linear groups ${\mathrm{SL} }_{d} (F)$ over a finite field $F$, with $d$ bounded. For length three progressions $(x, xg, x{g}^{2} )$, we establish a strong

The following thesis is an autoethnographic study that looks at narratives about communicative events and the social context that impacted the formation of identity, the deconstruction of identity and the reconstruction and integration of multiple ...

Anthropogenic disturbance and mixed-species groups
Mixed-species groups (MSGs) are composed of individuals of two or more species with such close associations that they can be regarded as members of the same social group.

A note on mixed A-reflexive groups
For Abelian groups \(A\) and \(G\), the Warfield \(A\)-dual of \(G\), \(G^*=\Hom(G,A)\). There is a canonical homomorphism \(\delta\colon G\to G^{**}\), and \(G\) is called \(A\)-reflexive if \(\delta\) is an isomorphism. The main problem is to characterize, for various choices of \(A\), the \(A\)-reflexive groups.

Background Participants want to receive the results of trials that they have participated in. Dissemination practices are disparate, and there is limited guidance available on what information to provide to participants and how to deliver it.

Responses of captive single- and mixed-species groups of Saguinus to novel nonthreatening objects
The provision of novel objects allows one to probe for behavioural differences among species. This is particularly relevant when studying species that form mixed-species groups, as divergent responses may provide clues to the advantages that individuals ...

Religious education in the experience of young people from mixed-faith families [PDF]
On the basis of recent ethnographic study at the University of Warwick of the religious identity formation of young people in ‘mixed-faith’ families, this article focuses on their (and their parents’) experiences and perceptions of religious education ...

Cohesion, order and information flow in the collective motion of mixed-species shoals [PDF]
Despite the frequency with which mixed-species groups are observed in nature, studies of collective behaviour typically focus on single-species groups.

Does the British state’s categorisation of 'mixed race' meet public policy needs? [PDF]
The England and Wales 2001 Census was the first to include ‘Mixed’ categories which have now been adopted across government. The four ‘cultural background’ options were highly prescriptive, specifying combinations of groups.

NEUTRINO MIXING AND THE DOUBLE TETRAHEDRAL GROUP [PDF]
In the spirit of a previous study of the tetrahedral group T ≃A4, we discuss a minimalist scheme to derive the neutrino mixing matrix using the double tetrahedral group T′, the double cover of T. The new features are three distinct two-dimensional representations and complex Clebsch–Gordan coefficients, which can result in a geometric source of CP ...
