Mixed species groups in mammals

open access: yes, 2003
1. Mixed species groups have long been noted in birds, but they also occur among different species of mammals ranging from closely related species to species from different orders.

Mixed Perverse Sheaves on Flag Varieties for Coxeter Groups

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper we construct an abelian category of mixed perverse sheaves attached to any realization of a Coxeter group, in terms of the associated Elias-Williamson diagrammatic category.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Children's art activities in mixed age groups

open access: yes, 2023

Tamarin polyspecific associations: Forest utilization and stability of mixed-species groups

open access: yes, 1999
Niche separation is likely to play a key role in the formation of mixed-species groups. Saddle-backed tamarins (Saguinusfuscicollis) were studied at three sites with different primate communities in northern Bolivia: (1) with red-bellied tamarins, S ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Mixed Lattice Groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A mixed lattice group is a generalization of a lattice ordered group. The theory of mixed lattice semigroups dates back to the 1970s, but the corresponding theory for groups has been relatively unexplored.

AUTOMORPHISM GROUPS OF MAPS, SURFACES AND SMARANDACHE GEOMETRIES [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Automorphism groups survey similarities on mathematical systems, which appear nearly in all mathematical branches, such as those of algebra, combinatorics, geometry, · · · and theoretical physics, theoretical chemistry, etc..

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Mixing and Covering in the Symmetric Groups

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1998
The covering of symmetric and alternating groups by powers of conjugacy classes is studied in this paper. Particular emphasis is laid on mixing which means that the computation of the powers is viewed as a stochastic process by taking samples out of the conjugacy class and then multiply them.
