Emerging Materials to Prepare Mixed Matrix Membranes for Pollutant Removal in Water
Various pollutants of different sizes are directly (e.g., water-borne diseases) and indirectly (e.g., accumulation via trophic transfer) threatening our water health and safety.

Alicyclic Polyimide/SiO2 Mixed Matrix Membranes for Water/n-Butanol Pervaporation
Alicyclic polyimides (PIs) have excellent properties in solubility, mechanical strength, thermal property, etc. This study developed two types of alicyclic PI-based mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) for water/n-butanol pervaporation application, which have ...

Tortuous mixed matrix membranes: A subtle balance between microporosity and compatibility
In this work, the effectiveness of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with sheet-like morphologies was assessed as function of the MOF microporosity and MOF-matrix compatibility. Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs, a MOF subclass) with sheet-like/platelet morphologies were incorporated in Matrimid/PBI matrices resulting in mixed matrix membranes (MMMs).
