Influence of Dialysis Membranes on Clinical Outcomes: From History to Innovation
Dialysis membranes were traditionally classified according to their material compositions (i.e., as cellulosic or synthetic) and on the basis of the new concept of the sieving coefficient (determined by the molecular weight retention onset and molecular ...

Long-Term Stable Metal Organic Framework (MOF) Based Mixed Matrix Membranes for Ultrafiltration
In this study, novel mixed matrix polyethersulfone (PES) membranes were synthesized by using two different kinds of metal organic frameworks (MOFs), namely UiO-66 and UiO-66-NH2.

Preparation and high CO2/CH4 selectivity of ZSM-5/Ethyl cellulose mixed matrix membranes
It is known that natural gas is extracted with a large amount of CO _2 , which reduces the amount of heat generated during the combustion of natural gas. How to remove some of the CO _2 from the natural gas is a problem that needs to be solved.

Tortuous mixed matrix membranes: A subtle balance between microporosity and compatibility
In this work, the effectiveness of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with sheet-like morphologies was assessed as function of the MOF microporosity and MOF-matrix compatibility. Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs, a MOF subclass) with sheet-like/platelet morphologies were incorporated in Matrimid/PBI matrices resulting in mixed matrix membranes (MMMs).

Engineering HOF-Based Mixed-Matrix Membranes for Efficient CO2 Separation
Highlights For the first time, the hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs)-based mixed-matrix membranes were designed for CO2 separation A size-controllable method for synthesis of HOF-21 nanoparticles was proposed via diethylamine-modulated framework ...

Combination of MOFs and Zeolites for Mixed‐Matrix Membranes
AbstractMixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs) were prepared by combinations of two different kinds of porous fillers [metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) HKUST‐1 and ZIF‐8, and zeolite silicalite‐1] and polysulfone. In the search for filler synergy, the MMMs were applied to the separation of CO2/N2, CO2/CH4, O2/N2, and H2/CH4 mixtures and we found important ...

Nanocarbon-Based Mixed Matrix Pebax-1657 Flat Sheet Membranes for CO2/CH4 Separation
In the present work, Pebax-1657, a commercial multiblock copolymer (poly(ether-block-amide)), consisting of 40% rigid amide (PA6) groups and 60% flexible ether (PEO) linkages, was selected as the base polymer for preparing dense flat sheet mixed matrix ...

Membrane materials targeting carbon capture and utilization
Over the past decades, fossil fuel combustion has emitted large quantities of CO2 into the atmosphere, resulting in global climate change. Nowadays, it's considered a feasible strategy to capture CO2 from some significant point sources.
