Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

On a mixed problem for the parabolic Lam'e type operator

open access: yes, 2019
We consider a boundary value problem for the parabolic Lam\'e type operator being a linearization of the Navier-Stokes' equations for compressible flow of Newtonian fluids. It consists of recovering a vector-function, satisfying the parabolic Lam\'e type

Re‐Awakening Public Attention to the Silent Pandemic of Cancer Among Older Adults in Low‐ and Middle‐Income Countries

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As global populations age, cancer is increasingly becoming a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among older adults, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Despite accounting for the majority of new cancer cases and deaths, older individuals remain underrepresented in cancer research, clinical guidelines, and health ...

Continuous dependence of solutions to mixed boundary value problems for a parabolic equation

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2008
We prove the continuous dependence, upon the data, of solutions to second-order parabolic equations. We study two boundary-value problems: One has a nonlocal (integral) condition and the another has a local boundary condition. The proofs are based on

Cognitive Status in People With Epilepsy in the Republic of Guinea: A Prospective, Case–Control Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective People with epilepsy (PWE) may experience cognitive deficits but fail to undergo formal evaluation. This study compares cognitive status between PWE and healthy controls in the West African Republic of Guinea. Methods A cross‐sectional, case–control study was conducted in sequential recruitment phases (July 2024–July 2025) at Ignace ...

Incorporating working conditions to a mixed- model sequencing problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014

Raviart-Thomas finite elements of Petrov-Galerkin type

open access: yes, 2019
The mixed finite element method for the Poisson problem with the Raviart-Thomas elements of low-level can be interpreted as a finite volume method with a non-local gradient.

Effects of Biological Sex and Age on Cerebrospinal Fluid Markers—A Retrospective Observational Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis is a key diagnostic tool for neurological diseases. To date, only a few studies have investigated in larger cohorts the effect of age and biological sex on diagnostic markers extracted from CSF. Methods For this retrospective observational study, 4163 CSF findings (2012–2020) were evaluated.

A mixed FEM for the quad-curl eigenvalue problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The quad-curl problem arises in the study of the electromagnetic interior transmission problem and magnetohydrodynamics (MHD). In this paper, we study the quad-curl eigenvalue problem and propose a mixed method using edge elements for the computation of ...

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...
