Experimental investigation on the miniature mixed refrigerant refrigerator driven by a mini-compressor

Tri-Technology Device Refrigeration (TTDR) III, 2018
Three miniature Joule-Thomson cryogenic coolers and a testing set up were built to investigate the cooling performance in this work. Shell-and-tube heat exchanger and plate fin heat exchangers with rectangular micro channels were designed to achieve high specific surface area.

Performance of mixed refrigerant cascade refrigerator for cooling a space simulation chamber

Indian Journal of Cryogenics, 2014
A mixed refrigerant cascade (MRC) refrigeration system has been developed to replace a conventional two-stage cascade refrigeration system for the cooling of space simulation chambers. A fast cool down of the refrigerator to 193K within a time of 16 min is achieved.

APPLICATION OF CASCADE REFRIGERATION SYSTEM WITH MIXING REFRIGERANT IN COLD AIR CUTTING

International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2005
In the mechanical cutting process, the replacement of traditional cutting solution with cold air can avoid the pollution of environment. In order to high efficient the refrigerating device and flexible adjust the temperature of cold air, it is necessary to use cascade refrigeration system to supply cool quantity for the compressed air.

Micro Cryogenic Coolers With Mixed Refrigerants

Volume 1: Advanced Packaging; Emerging Technologies; Modeling and Simulation; Multi-Physics Based Reliability; MEMS and NEMS; Materials and Processes, 2013
A number of small electronic devices benefit from micro-scale low temperature operation. Recently we have developed micro cryogenic coolers (MCCs) using a low-pressure, mixed-refrigerant Joule-Thomson cycle. The cryocoolers utilizes a MEMS-enabled gas compressor coupled to a micro cold stage.

Properties of Gas Mixtures and Their Use in Mixed-Refrigerant Joule-Thomson Refrigerators

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2004
The Joule‐Thomson (J‐T) effect has been widely used for achieving low temperatures. In the past few years, much progress has been made in better understanding the working mechanism of the refrigeration method and in developing prototypes for different applications. In this talk, there are three aspects of our research work to be discussed.

Performance of two mixed refrigerant processes providing refrigeration at 70 K

Cryogenics, 2016
Abstract Mixed refrigerant process refrigerators are ideal for use in superconducting transformers, fault current limiters, etc. placed in a liquid nitrogen bath. Traditional mixed refrigerant processes used above 70 K cannot be used in these applications. The performance of two mixed refrigerant processes suitable for the above applications has been

Real-time measurement of mixing ratio of refrigerant/refrigeration oil mixture

International Journal of Refrigeration, 2006
The mixing of refrigeration oil with refrigerant in a refrigeration cycle has great influence on cycle performance. A sampling method is the most general way to measure the mixing ratio of refrigerant and refrigeration oil. Since the sampling method is time-consuming and reduces the amount of refrigerant and oil in the cycle, a real-time measurement is
