Mix it—cograzing with cattle reduces broiler losses and increases broiler range use

open access: yesPoultry Science
Pasture access allows broilers to perform a wide range of behaviors and is a prerequisite in organic poultry production, but exposes broilers to various potential hazards including predators.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Hierarchical building use classification from multiple modalities with a multi-label multimodal transformer network

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Earth Observations and Geoinformation
Building use information is important for urban planning, city digital twins, and informed policy formulation. Prior research has predominantly focused on mapping building use in broad categories, offering general insight into their actual use. Our study

Universal Mixed Elliptic Motives

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper we construct a Q-linear tannakian category MEM_1 of universal mixed elliptic motives over the moduli space M_{1,1} of elliptic curves. It contains MTM, the category of mixed Tate motives unramified over the integers. Each object of MEM_1 is

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

The 1/N Expansion of Tensor Models Beyond Perturbation Theory

open access: yes, 2013
We analyze in full mathematical rigor the most general quartically perturbed invariant probability measure for a random tensor. Using a version of the Loop Vertex Expansion (which we call the mixed expansion) we show that the cumulants write as explicit ...
