Mixedness and teleportation [PDF]
We show that on exceeding a certain degree of mixedness (as quantified by the von Neumann entropy), entangled states become useless for teleporatation. By increasing the dimension of the entangled systems, this entropy threshold can be made arbitrarily close to maximal.

Although mixed origin is experienced as a resource by binational individuals, in some situations it can become a stigma. Through processes of othering, “mixed”, individuals experience a sort of stigmatization.

(Not) Measuring Mixedness in the Netherlands [PDF]
This chapter analyses the politics of ‘mixedness’ in a Dutch colonial and metropolitan context. We describe the colonial context of the racial categories used in Caribbean colonies and the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia) and how multiracialized individuals were positioned within these racial hierarchies.

Coherence, purity and correlation for superconducting charge qubits
In a model consisting of two superconducting charge qubits (SC-Qs), we study how the Josephson energy (JE) and temperature have an influence on the coherence, the degree of mixedness, and the nonclassical correlation.

Rethinking hybridity: Interrogating mixedness [PDF]
This article discusses definitions and debates about the terms ‘hybridity’ and ‘mixedness’ across the natural and human and social sciences, including the work of the cultural theorist Homi Bhabha. Using the argonomic idea of homology, that refers to correspondences in both the quality and the states of a thing or phenomena, insights are offered into ...

Distinguishability and mixedness in quantum interference
We study the impact of distinguishability and mixedness -- two fundamental properties of quantum states -- on quantum interference. We show that these can influence the interference of multiple particles in different ways, leading to effects that cannot be observed in the interference of two particles alone.
