Energy Measures of Efficient Mixing

Rubber Chemistry and Technology, 1982
Abstract Several significant developments have taken place recently in the understanding of elastomer behavior in the internal mixer. An elastomer must be treated as a viscoelastic solid rather than a viscous fluid. The material behavior is recognized as transient instead of steady state. Elongational deformation plays an important role and the

The mixing efficiency of interfacial waves breaking at a ridge: 1. Overall mixing efficiency

Journal of Geophysical Research, 2011
[1] The overall mixing efficiency of periodic, interfacial waves breaking at a Gaussian ridge is investigated through laboratory experiments. Cumulative measurements are used to investigate the fraction of the wave energy lost in the breaking event that contributes to irreversible mixing of the background density gradient.

Efficient parametrisations for normal linear mixed models

Biometrika, 1995
Summary: The generality and easy programmability of modern sampling-based methods for maximisation of likelihoods and summarisation of posterior distributions have led to a tremendous increase in the complexity and dimensionality of the statistical models used in practice.

Optical heterodyne mixing efficiency invariance

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1970
Optical heterodyne mixing efficiency is shown to be invariant to detector position if the detector is thin and the frequency difference between signal and local oscillator is small.

Changes in alveolar mixing efficiency during exercise

Respiration Physiology, 1991
The increased alveolar-arterial oxygen gradient (A-aDO2) occurring at higher levels of exercise may reflect impaired gas mixing. This latter function was investigated using the multiple breath nitrogen washout technique in 30 physical training students (15 M, 15 F).

Axial mixing and extraction efficiency

AIChE Journal, 1959
AbstractThe effect of back mixing of either phase in an extraction column, which decreases the extraction efficiency, is analyzed theoretically by means of an idealized diffusion model that can be characterized by four dimensionless parameters: a Peclet number of each phase, a mass transfer number, and the usual extraction factor.

Mixing efficiency estimation by probe discharge spectroscopy

2013 Abstracts IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science (ICOPS), 2013
Summary form is given. This work considers the dynamics of long filamentary pulse discharge generated along the contact zone of two co-flown gases [1], basically: hydrocarbon fuel and oxidizer. The effect of the mixing actuation in compressible flow is observed because of the gas dynamic instability arisen after the discharge generation.

Mixing Efficiency of a Stably Stratified Fluid

Boundary-Layer Meteorology, 1993
Universally valid expressions for the momentum and mass diffusion coefficients in stratified shear flows do not exist. Similarly, the effect of molecular diffusion in the mixing effciency of a stably stratified has not been investigated previously. In this paper the mixing efficiency in stably stratified flow is considered.

Stable and Efficient Mixed‐halide Perovskite LEDs

ChemSusChem
AbstractTailoring bandgap by mixed‐halide strategy in perovskites has attracted extraordinary attention due to the flexibility of halide ion combinations and has emerged as the most direct and effective approach to precisely tune the emission wavelength throughout the entire visible light spectrum.
