A mixed cells physical design approach

2015 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2015
This work presents a design flow using a mixed cells design approach, mixing standard cells from a library with cells generated automatically with ASTRAN [1]. Moreover, a new technique using Artificial Neural Networks was developed to perform a comparison between two different cells, a standard cell one and ASTRAN's cell.

Turbulent mixing with physical mass diffusion

Physical Review E, 2006
Simulated mixing rates of the Rayleigh-Taylor instability for miscible fluids with physical mass diffusion are shown to agree with experiment; for immiscible fluids with physical values of surface tension the numerical data lie in the center of the range of experimental values.

"Physical hypermedia"

Proceedings of the fourteenth ACM conference on Hypertext and hypermedia - HYPERTEXT '03, 2003
This paper addresses the problem of organizing material in mixed digital and physical environments. It presents empirical examples of how people use collectional artefacts and organize physical material such as paper, samples, models, mock-ups, plans, etc. in the real world.

Mixed fortunes for physics

Physics World, 2004
Scarcely had the dust settled on the US budget for 2004, which was finally agreed by Congress last month, than the Bush administration presented its budget proposal for financial year 2005. However, the costs of the war against terrorism and calls to reduce the country's deepening deficit have left budget-makers little latitude to boost funds for ...

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF SOIL MIXES

Soil Science, 1964
Laboratory methods for evaluating soil mixes for potting media are proposed, and measurement values from laboratory-compacted smaples are correlated with equivalent ones made under actual use of the mixes in gallon-sized soil containers in greenhouse conditions.

Handheld Projectors for Mixing Physical and Digital Textures

2005 IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR'05) - Workshops, 2006
Handheld projectors offer a new type of display modality, not tied to a physical screen or to a fixed projection area, yet providing a larger display than is available from a handheld device with fixed screen. This paper begins with a review of our prototype handheld projector, and describes our work on interaction using a cursor that can be tracked ...

Mixed Reality Space Travel for Physics Learning

2013
In this paper we describe research being conducted on a mixed reality simulation called MEteor that is designed for informal physics learning in science centers. MEteor is a 30 x 10 foot floor area where participants use their bodies to interact with projected astronomical imagery. Participants walk and run across the floor to simulate how objects move

Oxford Laboratory Mixes Physics and Archeology

Physics Today, 1967
If an archeologist sat down to dinner with a physicist, their conversation might stir up ways to pursue the two sciences together. Such a meeting happened once at the University of Oxford and the resulting laboratory, established in 1955 by C. F. C. Hawkes and Viscount Cherwell, is now carrying on what is probably the world's most intense program of ...

Modelling of mixed physical-domain system [PDF]

open access: possible, 2010
The next generation of System-on-Chip (SoC) design is emerging into new dimension with embedded mixed-signal (i.e digital and analogue) and multiple natures (i.e electrical and non-electrical) are being packed onto very single chip. It is becoming more ubiquitous and can be seen with diversely in many applications nowadays such as engineering, medicine,
