A mixed cells physical design approach

2015 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2015
This work presents a design flow using a mixed cells design approach, mixing standard cells from a library with cells generated automatically with ASTRAN [1]. Moreover, a new technique using Artificial Neural Networks was developed to perform a comparison between two different cells, a standard cell one and ASTRAN's cell.

A mixed qualitative/quantitative physical land evaluation methodology

Geoderma, 1992
Abstract A mixed qualitative/quantitative physical land evaluation methodology is proposed. This mixed approach comprises both qualitative and quantitative methods. The screening of land for serious constraints associated with a defined land utilization type is carried out by qualitative methods based on computer-captured expert knowledge ...

Mixed physical modeling: DWG + FDTD + WDF

2003 IEEE Workshop on Applications of Signal Processing to Audio and Acoustics (IEEE Cat. No.03TH8684), 2004
Physical modeling by computer, especially for sound synthesis of musical instruments, is based on discrete time and space numerical simulation of the targeted physical systems. Digital waveguides (DWG) have been found to be a particularly attractive technique due to their efficiency and inherent capability of modeling systems with propagation delays ...

Oxford Laboratory Mixes Physics and Archeology

Physics Today, 1967
If an archeologist sat down to dinner with a physicist, their conversation might stir up ways to pursue the two sciences together. Such a meeting happened once at the University of Oxford and the resulting laboratory, established in 1955 by C. F. C. Hawkes and Viscount Cherwell, is now carrying on what is probably the world's most intense program of ...

UNPARTICLE PHYSICS AND NEUTRAL MESON MIXING

International Journal of Modern Physics A, 2008
The concept of exact and broken scale invariance is discussed. We give a brief introduction to unparticle physics. The neutral meson mixing can be caused by exchange of unparticle at the tree level. The constraints on interaction between unparticle and SM quarks are discussed.

Physical Hypermedia: Organising Collections of Mixed Physical and Digital Material

2003
This paper introduces the notion of physical hypermedia, addressing the problem of organizing material in mixed digital and physical environments. Based on empirical studies, we propose concepts for collectional actions and meta-data actions, and present prototypes combining principles from augmented reality and hypermedia to support organization of ...

Physical Observations for Mixed Matrix Formulation

2009
The dual viewpoint from structural analysis and dimensional analysis, as previewed in §1.2, is explained in more detail. Firstly, two different kinds, “accurate” and “inaccurate,” are distinguished among numbers characterizing real-world systems, and secondly, algebraic implications of the principle of dimensional homogeneity are discussed.
