Neutrino masses, mixing and new physics effects [PDF]
We introduce a parametrization of the effects of radiative corrections from new physics on the charged lepton and neutrino mass matrices, studying how several relevant quantities describing the pattern of neutrino masses and mixing are affected by these corrections.

Faster quantum mixing for slowly evolving sequences of Markov chains [PDF]
Markov chain methods are remarkably successful in computational physics, machine learning, and combinatorial optimization. The cost of such methods often reduces to the mixing time, i.e., the time required to reach the steady state of the Markov chain ...

BSM Kaon mixing at the Physical Point [PDF]
We present new preliminary results for bag parameters and ratios of the BSM kaon mixing operators measured at the physical point. The results are obtained from simulations of domain wall fermion QCD with 2+1 flavours with an Iwasaki gauge, and now include pion and kaon masses very close to the physical point.

Towards a regional ocean forecasting system for the IBI (Iberia-Biscay-Ireland area): developments and improvements within the ECOOP project framework [PDF]
The regional ocean operational system remains a key element in downscaling from large scale (global or basin scale) systems to coastal ones. It enables the transition between systems in which the resolution and the resolved physics are quite different ...

Classical and quantum physics mix [PDF]
A neat way of talking of quantum and classical physics in the same language will be of interest in itself even if it does not avoid the need for a quantum theory of gravity; but that would be a huge extra.

Searches for decays of new particles in the DUNE Multi-Purpose near Detector
One proposed component of the upcoming Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) near detector complex is a multi-purpose, magnetized, gaseous argon time projection chamber: the Multi-Purpose Detector (MPD).

Sensitivities on dark photon from the forward physics experiments
Neutrino-electron scattering experiments can explore the potential presence of a light gauge boson A′ which arises from an additional U(1) B−L group, or a dark photon A′ which arises from a dark sector and has kinetic mixing with the SM hypercharge gauge

Do physics and politics mix? [PDF]
It is true that the recent US Presidential election, with the fiasco over vote-counting in Florida, brought calls for more scientific input into voting machinery, to which the California and Massachusetts institutes of technology, at least, responded.

Physical range of majorana neutrino mixing parameters [PDF]
If neutrinos are Majorana fermions, the lepton mixing parameter space consists of six mixing parameters: three mixing angles and three CP-odd phases. A related issue concerns the physical range of the mixing parameters. What values should these take so that all physically distinguishable mixing scenarios are realized?

Mixed Cation Halide Perovskite under Environmental and Physical Stress [PDF]
Despite the ideal performance demonstrated by mixed perovskite materials when used as active layers in photovoltaic devices, the factor which still hampers their use in real life remains the poor stability of their physico-chemical and functional properties when submitted to prolonged permanence in atmosphere, exposure to light and/or to moderately ...
