A Test of the Rational Expectations Hypothesis using data from a Natural Experiment [PDF]
Data on contestants' choices in Italian Game Show Affari Tuoi are analysed in a way that separates the effect of risk attitude (preferences) from that of beliefs concerning the amount of money that will be offered to contestants in future rounds.

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

The value of ammoniated hydrol in beef cattle wintering rations.
Twenty Hereford heifer calves were divided as equally as possible on the basis of size, weight, and type into two lots of 10 animals each. Atlas sorghum silage was used as the roughage and the amount fed was adjusted to the amount the animals would ...

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Bayesian Portfolio Selection with Gaussian Mixture Returns
Markowitz portfolio selection is challenged by huge implementation barriers. This paper addresses the parameter uncertainty and deviation from normality in a Bayesian framework. The non-normal asset returns are modeled as finite Gaussian mixtures.

The result of this experiment shows that 2000 pounds of grain produced 6263/4 pounds live weight, or 17.3 pounds of growth for every bushel of corn and equivalent; that we can approximate one dollar per bushel for corn when pork is five and one-half ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Latent Process Heterogeneity in Discounting Behavior [PDF]
We show that observed choices in discounting experiments are consistent with roughly one-half of the subjects using exponential discounting and one-half using quasi-hyperbolic discounting.
