Multidimensional Membership Mixture Models [PDF]
We present the multidimensional membership mixture (M3) models where every dimension of the membership represents an independent mixture model and each data point is generated from the selected mixture components jointly.

Analytical and numerical modeling methods for impedance analysis of single cells on-chip
Electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is a noninvasive method for characterizing the dielectric properties of biological particles. The technique can differentiate between cell types and provide information on cell properties through measurement of the

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Gaussian Mixture Variational Autoencoder for Semi-Supervised Topic Modeling
Topic models are widely explored for summarizing a corpus of documents. Recent advances in Variational AutoEncoder (VAE) have enabled the development of black-box inference methods for topic modeling in order to alleviate the drawbacks of classical ...

Finite Mixture Modeling via Skew-Laplace Birnbaum–Saunders Distribution
Finite mixture model is a widely acknowledged model-based clustering method for analyzing data. In this paper, a new finite mixture model via an extension of Birnbaum–Saunders distribution is introduced.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Cross likelihood ratio based speaker clustering using eigenvoice models [PDF]
This paper proposes the use of eigenvoice modeling techniques with the Cross Likelihood Ratio (CLR) as a criterion for speaker clustering within a speaker diarization system. The CLR has previously been shown to be a robust decision criterion for speaker
