Exploring natural sunscreens: UVB protection and antioxidant properties in gadusol‐rich fish roes extracts

Photochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Gadusol‐rich extracts provide effective UVB protection and antioxidant activity in HaCaT cells and C. elegans, highlighting their potential as natural photochemoprotective agents for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications. It also demonstrates remarkable in vitro antioxidant capacity and thermal stability over time.

Gadusol protects melanocytes from ultraviolet B (UVB)‐induced damage without cytotoxicity. Abstract The increasing incidence of skin cancer, including melanoma, combined with the need for ultraviolet (UV) filters that are safe for human health and marine ecosystems, is driving the search for new photoprotective agents.

Abstract Ageing leads to an increased prevalence of sarcopenia and frailty, characterised by progressive declines in muscle strength, power and function and reduced physical activity. Hot water immersion (HWI) could potentially improve muscle function, but this is yet to be explored in older adults.

Abstract Scrotal exteriorisation of abdominal viscera is rarely reported in domestic rabbits and constitutes a surgical emergency. This report describes traumatic inguinoscrotal herniation of the urinary bladder in a domestic rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), a 4‐month‐old entire male, following bite‐induced scrotal avulsion during territorial aggression.
