Chemotherapies such as doxorubicin can have toxic effects on healthy cardiovascular/heart tissue. Following up on a doxorubicin toxicity study in mice without tumors where nitrate water was cardioprotective (lessened toxicity), this study with tumor‐bearing mice undergoing doxorubicin treatment showed no negative effect of nitrate and nitrite on drug ...

Induction of diabetes in three different mouse strains uniformly resulted in an increase in TNAP activity and a reduction in pyrophosphate (PPi) in the circulation. Inhibition of TNAP restored plasma PPi. Diabetes‐induced calcification in the media layer of the aorta was detected only in the Abcc6−/− strain, which is predisposed to ectopic ...

Excess Ca2+ ions activate the Calcium‐Sensing Receptor (CaSR), which subsequently drives the uptake of excess inorganic phosphate (Pi) via the Pi transporter (Pit−1) in chondrocytes. This mechanism causes a toxic increase in intracellular Pi concentration, ultimately leading to chondrocyte apoptosis and pathological mineralization. Excess extracellular

Mls DETERMINANTS AND ANTI‐Mls RECEPTORS
International Journal of Immunogenetics, 1988SUMMARYWe review evidence from this laboratory that T cell recognition of Mlsa determinants is not controlled solely by the α‐β T cell receptor (TcR) molecule. We propose a model in which Mlsa recognition reflects a receptor‐ligand interaction between two sets of complementary accessory molecules, one molecule (Mlsa) being expressed on B cells and the ...

ML F is a type system that seamlessly merges ML-style type inference with System-F polymorphism. We propose a system of graphic (type) constraints that can be used to perform type inference in both ML or ML F .

ALGO is a distributed location service to track the position of mobile nodes and to route messages between any two nodes. The lookup of nodes is achieved by searching in a hierarchy of pointers that each node maintains. We show that ALGO has constant stretch for lookup requests.

The method of Moving Least Squares (MLS) is a popular framework for reconstructing continuous functions from scattered data due to its rich mathematical properties and well-understood theoretical foundations. This paper applies MLS to volume rendering, providing a unified mathematical framework for ray casting of scalar data stored over regular as well

We propose Perform-ML, the first Machine Learning (ML) framework for analysis of massive and dense data which customizes the algorithm to the underlying platform for the purpose of achieving optimized resource efficiency. Perform-ML creates a performance model quantifying the computational cost of iterative analysis algorithms on a pertinent platform ...
