MLD relations of pisot substitution tilings [PDF]

open access: diamondJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2010
We consider 1-dimensional, unimodular Pisot substitution tilings with three intervals, and discuss conditions under which pairs of such tilings are locally isomorhphic (LI), or mutually locally derivable (MDL). For this purpose, we regard the substitutions as homomorphisms of the underlying free group with three generators.

Signal Splatter and the MLD [PDF]

open access: bronzeThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1970
Several experiments have shown that the S0M0-SπM0 MLD increases markedly with reduction in masker bandwidth. However, there are at least two inconsistencies in this result. First, apparently similar experiments conducted by different laboratories have produced quite different results.

John William Trevan’s concept of Median Lethal Dose (LD50/LC50) – more misused than used

open access: yesJournal of Pre-Clinical and Clinical Research, 2021
Introduction Median lethal dose (MLD) has been a controversial subject among biologists and animal ethicists since its inception in 1927 by Trevan. Toxicologists use MLD (LD50) as the first step to assess the toxicity of a substance.

Spatial and Temporal Variability of Mixed Layer Depth (MLD) in Eastern Indian Ocean (EIO): 1998-2020

open access: yesJurnal Ilmiah Perikanan dan Kelautan, 2023
Mixed Layer Depth (MLD) plays an important role in various aspects of oceanography. MLD has a characteristic parameter value that is uniform with depth. MLD has an important role for local, regional, and global phenomena.

Understanding caregiver descriptions of initial signs and symptoms to improve diagnosis of metachromatic leukodystrophy

open access: yesOrphanet Journal of Rare Diseases, 2022
Background Metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD), a relentlessly progressive and ultimately fatal condition, is a rare autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disorder caused by a deficiency of the enzyme arylsulfatase A (ARSA).
