Inequality of Opportunity in Wealth: Levels, Trends and Drivers in Germany

ABSTRACT This paper studies inequality of opportunity (IOp) in individual net wealth in Germany from 2002 to 2019 using the Socio‐Economic Panel (SOEP). Applying the ex‐ante IOp framework, we quantify the share of wealth inequality attributable to immutable circumstances and benchmark it against IOp in gross labour earnings.

Diagnostic impact and reproducibility of p53 immunohistochemistry in Barrett's oesophagus: results of the Dutch Esophageal Pathology Panel (DEPP)

Structured p53‐IHC in Barrett's oesophagus supports diagnostic decision‐making. In 1,146 cases, agreement between referring hospitals and the expert panel was moderate‐to‐substantial (κ = 0.61), with 24.2% of p53‐based classifications revised. Interobserver agreement among expert pathologists was substantial (κ = 0.65).
