mm-Wave QVCO

2015
With the increasing demand for high data rates in wireless consumer products, there is a higher demand for wider RF bandwidth. Millimeter-wave bands meet these demands by providing wide RF bandwidths, allowing for Gb/s data rates. With 9-GHz of ISM (unlicensed) bandwidth between 57 GHz and 66 GHz, new standards have emerged to exploit the available ...

mm-Wave Dividers

2018
The PLL is a key subsystems of any transceiver for wireless applications. In state-of-the-art fundamental mm-Wave PLL (both analog and digital) the first divider and oscillator run at the highest frequency, becoming the system bottleneck for noise, tuning-range, power consumption and yield under PVT variation (X. Yi et al.

Passive mm-wave Imaging

SPIE Proceedings, 1990
Passive millimetre wave night-time imaging systems suffer little attenuation in cloud and light drizzle. There has been considerable advances in semiconductor solid state devices. In particular there are wide bandwidth low noise amplifiers and mixers as well as low cost compact sources such as Impatt and Gunn diodes.

Planar Wideband mm-Wave Antennas for mm-Wave 5G applications

2019 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology (ICMMT), 2019
This paper introduces several wideband planar mm-wave antennas developed in our group for the upcoming mm-wave 5G wireless system, including wideband high gain antennas for the E-band back-haul application and multiple-radiation-mode wideband antennas for the QLink-pan applications.

MM wave transmission polarizer

1979 Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2005
Anisotropic dielectric transmission polarizers composed of alternate layers of foam and dielectric (See Figure 1) are used at microwave frequencies for producing circular polarization. This type of polarizer, however, is rarely used at millimeter wavelengths because the layers must be thinner than 1/3 wavelength; therefore they become quite thin.

Reflectarrays for mm-Wave radar applications

2011 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APSURSI), 2011
This paper gives an overview of mm-Wave reflectarrays used for civil radar applications such as collision avoidance system for rescue helicopters at 94 GHz or FOD detection on airport runways at 77 GHz. Both antenna designs and examples of radar performances are presented and discussed.

mm-Wave LC VCOs

2018
The phase noise (PN) at the output of the phase locked loop (PLL) sets a fundamental limit to the maximum spectral efficiency that the whole system can achieve. As discussed in Chap. 1, the bit error rate against SNR requirements in an AWGN environment shown in Fig. 1.7 changes drastically when a practical PN profile is considered, see Fig.

Efficient mm Wave Link Establishment and Maintaining Using Wi- Fi/mm Wave Interworking

2018 International Conference on Computing, Electronics & Communications Engineering (iCCECE), 2018
Millimeter wave (mmWave) communication is considered as a promising candidate for the access link of the next 5G cellular networks. However, directional transmission via narrow beams must be used to mitigate the severe isotropic losses in this band. Hence, establishing and maintaining the mm Wave link especially in dynamic environments (i.e. under user

mm-Wave Device Optimization

2011
As was mentioned in the previous chapter, device performance in mm-Wave frequencies is deeply under the influence of layout parasitics. Apart from the urge for layout dependent models, as was pointed out before, this has another important consequence: Unlike low frequency circuit design in which the device design is absolutely in the realm of process ...

MM-wave power amplifiers

1991 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2002
The authors describe the advantages of amplifying traveling-wave tube (TWT) chains in the 8-mm wavelength range based on power output transparent TWT packaged in permanent magnets for providing power levels of tens of kilowatts. To obtain pulse power levels of hundreds of kilowatts to the megawatt range, the hybrid orotron-TWT based microwave device ...
