Circulating tumour cells (CTCs) in haematological malignancies: Advances in biology and clinical relevance with a focus on multiple myeloma

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, Volume 208, Issue 5, Page 1535-1550, May 2026.
Spatial heterogeneity limits the sensitivity of bone marrow biopsies, resulting in false‐negative findings. Circulating tumour cells (CTCs) provide a systemic, stratified monitoring approach, using flow cytometry for high tumour burden and EuroFlow or allele‐specific oligonucleotide PCR (ASO‐PCR) for minimal residual disease to enable early relapse ...

Omnibus goodness‐of‐fit tests for univariate continuous distributions based on trigonometric moments

open access: yesStatistica Neerlandica, Volume 80, Issue 2, May 2026.
ABSTRACT We propose a new omnibus goodness‐of‐fit test based on trigonometric moments of probability‐integral‐transformed data. The test builds on the framework of the LK test introduced by Langholz and Kronmal [J. Amer. Statist. Assoc. 86 (1991), 1077–1084], but fully exploits the covariance structure of the associated trigonometric statistics.

Modeling intraseasonal features of 2004 North American monsoon precipitation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This study examines the capabilities and limitations of the fifth-generation Pennsylvania State University-National Center for Atmospheric Research Mesoscale Model (MM5) in predicting the precipitation and circulation features that accompanied the 2004 ...

Revisiting Intrinsic Predictability of Wave‐Convection Coupled Bands Over Southern China: Variable and Scale‐Dependent Error Growth Characteristics

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 8, 28 April 2026.
Abstract This study investigates the variable‐ and scale‐dependent intrinsic predictability of wave‐convection coupled bands over southern China on 30 January 2018, using 1‐km simulations under varying initial moisture conditions. The predictability time is quantified via the Loss Predictability Index (LPI), defined as the ratio of the forecast error ...

Heavy rain prediction using deterministic and probabilistic models – the flash flood cases of 11–13 October 2005 in Catalonia (NE Spain) [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Geosciences, 2007
Between the 11 and 13 October 2005 several flash floods were produced along the coast of Catalonia (NE Spain) due to a significant heavy rainfall event. Maximum rainfall achieved values up to 250 mm in 24 h.

Dominant aerosol processes during high-pollution episodes over Greater Tokyo [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This paper studies two high-pollution episodes over Greater Tokyo: 9 and 10 December 1999, and 31 July and 1 August 2001. Results obtained with the chemistry-transport model (CTM) Polair3D are compared to measurements of inorganic PM2.5. To understand to

A Generalized Sigma-Coordinate System for the MM5

open access: yesMonthly Weather Review, 2003
Abstract A generalized sigma-coordinate system is presented that allows for a rapid vertical decay of small-scale topographic structures in the coordinate surfaces. Its properties are similar to the smooth-level vertical-coordinate system recently introduced by Schar et al., but it is designed for the coordinate definition used in the fifth-generation ...

An Evaluation of WRF‐Chem's Performance in Simulating PM2.5 in West African Cities

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 7, 16 April 2026.
Abstract West Africa experiences some of the highest particulate pollution levels globally due to Saharan dust, biomass burning and urban emissions. Despite the severe health burden, air quality monitoring remains sparse. This study evaluates WRF‐Chem's performance in simulating PM2.5 levels across seven West African cities in 2021 using newly ...

Zenith total delay study of a mesoscale convective system : GPS observations and fine-scale modelling [PDF]

open access: yes
Zenith Total Delay (ZTD) observations and model calculations are used to analyze a mesoscale convective system which yielded a large amount of precipitation over a short period of time in the north-western Mediterranean. ZTD observations are derived from

Novel supermultiplets of SU(2,2|4) and the AdS_5/CFT_4 duality [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We continue our study of the unitary supermultiplets of the N=8, d=5 anti-de Sitter (AdS_5) superalgebra SU(2,2|4), which is also the N=4 extended conformal superalgebra in d=4.
