3D network Mn-glutarate compound with Mn–O–Mn and Mn–O–C–O–Mn connectivity

Inorganic Chemistry Communications, 2004
Abstract The reaction of MnCl2 and glutaric acid in aqueous solution affords a new 3D Mn-glutarate with an empirical formula of Mn3(H2O)[CO2(CH2)3CO2]3 (1). The structure of 1 contains honeycomb-type 12 membered Mn–O–Mn networks of MnO6 octahedra and interconnecting Mn–O–C–O–Mn bridging resulting in magnetic interaction below 3 K.

Electronic and magnetic properties of Mn/Cu/Mn and Mn/Ni/Mn slabs

Surface Science, 1995
In this paper we are interested in the magnetic properties of Mn/Cu/Mn and Mn/Ni/Mn slabs as a function of Mn coverage at T = 0 K. A tight-binding parametrized Hamiltonian with s, p and d orbitals is used and the appearance of spillover is accounted for by enlarging the local basis at the surface and vacancy sites.

Structure and magnetism of a Mn(iii)–Mn(ii)–Mn(ii)–Mn(iii) chain complex

Dalton Transactions, 2013
A novel tetranuclear manganese(II/III) complex with anions of pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (dipicolinic acid) has been synthesised and magneto-structurally characterised. The crystal structure of [Mn(II)2Mn(III)2(dipic)6(H2O)4]·2CH3OH·4H2O has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
