Preferred Mn spacings in Al-Mn compounds
Physical Review Letters, 1993A model pair potential is calculated for Mn-Mn pairs in Al using a Green's function method. The pair potential has a preferred spacing of 4.7 A. The energy resulting from these Mn-Mn interactions strongly favors the Al 6 Mn, a-AlMnSi, and icosahedral quasicrystal structures relative to competing simple structures, providing a possible mechanism for ...

Depth dependence of the Mn valence and Mn-Mn coupling in (Ga,Mn)N
Physical Review B, 2007We report an x-ray absorption and x-ray magnetic circular dichroism study of the dilute magnetic semiconductor (Ga,Mn)N. Two distinct components are observed in the Mn ${L}_{2,3}$ spectra, with a ratio that depends on sample properties. From comparisons of measurements obtained with different detection modes and under different magnetic fields, we ...

Phosphido bridged heterodinuclear (Mn/Fe, Mn/Cr, Mn/W) complexes
Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, 1995Abstract Treatment of (MeCp)Mn(CO)2 (Ph2PLi), generated in situ, with M(CO)n(THF) in THF at −60°C followed by cation exchange, provides [Et4N][(MeCp)Mn(CO)2(μ-PPh2)M(CO)n] (3, MFe, n = 4; MCr, n = 5; 6, MW, n = 5). Complex 3 reacts with NO+BF4− to give (MeCp)MnFe(CO)4(NO)(μ-PPh2) (7) which contains a metal-metal (MnFe) bond.

Addition of nitric oxide (NO) to the oxygen evolving Mn complex (OEC) of Photosystem II (PSII) has been shown to result in a series of consecutive reduction reactions which can be followed by EPR spectroscopy. By allowing the reaction to proceed at -30 °C, we have demonstrated that the S2 state of the OEC is rapidly reduced to the S1 state [1], while ...

Mn behaviors in Mn-implanted ZnO
Acta Materialia, 2009The behavior of Mn when doped into ZnO by ion implantation was investigated by scanning transmission electron microscopy, electron energy loss spectroscopy and dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Unlike the previously reported case of Co/Ni-implanted ZnO (where Co/Ni nanocrystals were observed.) Mn implantation has been found to induce an O deficiency in ...

Development of Mn/Mn and Mn/Mg High Temperature TE Devices
Materials Today: Proceedings, 2018Abstract Skeleton-type 20-pair MnSi1.74/Al3Mn3Si4 and MnSi1.74/Mg2Si devices, usable below 600°C, are fabricated successfully. Ni top-electrodes are brazed to the p- and n-thermoelectric (TE) blocks. 50 x 40 x 2mm3 metallic bases are used. The TE-blocks, 10x3x7 mm3 in size, are cutout from the 30mm ϕ x 7mm pellets synthesized by the spark plasma ...

Highly symmetric Mn sites in icosahedral Ti-Mn
Physical Review B, 1990We find that the $^{55}\mathrm{Mn}$ NMR linewidth and Knight shift of icosahedral ${\mathrm{Ti}}_{63}$${\mathrm{Mn}}_{37}$ (i-TiMn) are identical to those of the crystalline phases obtained upon annealing. Comparison of the linewidth in i-TiMn and a bcc Ti-Mn solid solution shows that the Mn sites in both phases have a nearly cubic or higher symmetry ...

Lifetime measurement for the and 13/ levels in
Lifetimes of the 15/21− and 13/21− levels in Sn129 have been measured using γ-γ fast timing technique which come out to be 10(3) ps and 6(4) ps, respectively. The excited states were populated through internal transition decay of higher lying µs isomers in Sn129 produced as fission fragments and mass separated by the Lohengrin separator at Institut ...Kumar, D +14 more
