Fluvio-geomorphic change of the Padma-Meghna river course using the NDWI and MNDWI techniques

open access: yesWater Science
Abstract This study intends to investigate the fluvial-geomorphic change and erosion-accretion processes of two significant rivers. The 2149 km2 research area's overall erosion and accretion were depicted using multi-temporal Landsat images and NDWI, MNDWI methods to measure and investigate change.

Applying MNDWI index and linear directional mean analysis for morphological changes in the Zarriné-Rūd River

Arabian Journal of Geosciences, 2015
Nowadays, river dynamics is strongly influenced by human activities. The Zarrine-Rūd River morphology and the Urmia Lake beach line have been changing in recent decades because of agricultural and construction activities, industrial and urban projects, extra using of water, and sediments of river by riverside dwellers.

Detection of Changes in Surface Water Bodies Urban Area with NDWI and MNDWI Methods [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal on Advanced Science, Engineering and Information Technology, 2019
Land surface water bodies, an essential part of the Earth’s water cycle such as rivers, lakes, swamp, and reservoirs, influence the global ecosystem and climate global significantly. Makassar, one of the most populated cities in Indonesia, recently experiences massive development that affects the existence of vegetation area and urban aquatic ecosystem.

open access: yesInternational Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences - ISPRS Archives, 2019
Abstract. Assessment of changes of water bodies and vegetation by traditional methods is very difficult and costly. The use of satellite data makes it possible to study water bodies and vegetation more accurately and cost effectively. Accordingly, various digital methods have been developed to discover and detect changes of earth's surface features ...

Delimitation of floodplains from modified normalized diference water index (mndwi) in the City of Esteio (RS, Brasil)

2017
One of the possibilities of analysis from satellite images is the spatial and temporal variation of flodplains. Among the indices developed for analysis of water resources highlights the Modified Normalized Difference Water Index (MNDWI), prepared in order to highlight flood areas with a higher power of discrimination of targets.
